  • The Tripod That Makes Me Feel Like a Real Filmmaker (Even When I’m Just Filming My Dog)
I bought the SmallRig T-10 Tripod because I needed something sturdy, tall, and not afraid of the questionable decisions I make with my camera gear. This thing shows up, I unfold it, and suddenly I feel like I’m on the set of a Netflix documentary about my own life. It’s that legit. Stability: This tripod is so stable I’m convinced it could endure a mild earthquake, a curious toddler, and my dog deciding that one leg looks suspiciously like a bathroom post. My shots used to wobble like a caffeinated chihuahua—now they’re smooth enough to make a nature filmmaker cry. Height: At 68 inches, this thing gets TALL. I’m 5’10”, and for the first time ever, my camera is looking slightly down at me—which honestly feels rude, but also professional. Want overhead shots? It’s ready. Want eye-level interviews? Done. Want to feel small in front of your own gear? Absolutely. Build Quality: SmallRig basically said, “What if we made a tripod that feels more solid than my life choices?” The locks clamp tight, the legs extend smoothly, and the whole setup feels like it could survive being tossed gently—or not so gently—into the backseat of your car. Portability: It folds up compactly, which is great because I hate tripods that feel like carrying a folded-up giraffe. The carrying bag is nice too—looks like I’m transporting something expensive even when I’m just shooting a video of my kids arguing about Pop-Tarts. Bonus: It makes that satisfying click sound when you extend the legs. I don’t know why this matters, but it does. It really, really does. Final Verdict: If you’re looking for a tripod that’s sturdy, tall, professional, and gives you the emotional support of feeling like a real cinematographer—while also making you laugh at how serious it looks compared to the silly things you actually film—this is the one. Buy it. Your footage (and your self-esteem) will thank you. ... show more

  • Light weight but solid construction
I wanted a tripod that is lightweight but sturdy, and that has flip-locks for fast adjustments. This tripod checked those boxes at an affordable price. I paired it with a SmallRig fluid video head to mount my DJI Osmo Pocket 3 cameras for corporate video shoots. Typical of SmallRig products, the tripod is well made. When extended, the aluminum legs are sturdy, and the flip-locks allow for quick but firm adjustments. There are 1/4" threaded holes in the legs so you can attach accessories such as a cell phone holder. For easy transport the tripod collapses into a very small footprint. The included carrying case actually allows me to fit both the tripod and a SmallRig fluid video head into the bag. This tripod is a great choice for anyone with light cameras, especially when combined with a SmallRig fluid vide head. ... show more

  • Quite good
Nice, reliable and reletevly solid. Not as lightweight as possible but good enough for mid size and weight. Its main use for me is for clients portrait in their office as it is easy to carry and hold a 1.8 kg/3.5 pound body + 24-70 2.8. With the right head it can even replace my heavy nature tripod for 2.8 kg/ 5.5 pound, but more as a no choice solution then a permanent one. The one-leg monopod is a bit lighter then needed, to easy to ditch unless tightened in really hard, and i feel its for smaller lighter bodies then the nikon z8. Legs upper engle lock is good and solid, easy to open and pack. Legs extension is well made and main shaft is solid with reliable lock turn mechanism. All by all- nice to travel, compact and half solis though a bit heavy on the pack for a day out in the city with lots of walking. ... show more

  • Great cost effective tripod
I love this tripod, it's a great alternative to more expensive options. I do wish it had a bit more weight to it as sometimes it feels a little too light almost. It has a bag hook under it which is a nice way to get it on the ground though. The other issue I have with it is the tension in the legs. I almost want them to be a bit tighter and provide a bit more resistance. When setting it down, sometimes you have to pick it up and put it back down a few times in order to make sure the legs go where you want them. The slight pressure of setting it down is enough to start folding the legs in. That is such a minor issue though that I don't even consider it an issue. It's a great tripod to travel with and once set down is sturdy. It does feel a bit cheap in terms of the construction, like how other very budget tripods feel, but it's SmallRig so I trust it more than another budget tripod for sure. SmallRig is a name that I trust with my camera gear. Quick update: I originally didn't think the legs could be tightened but they can. Using the smaller threads on the screw on the top, you can thread that into the sides of the leg locking screws. Once threaded in, you can use the plate the tripod comes with to hold the nut in place. Then tighten with the provided allen key on the left side. Not sure why it's not just another bolt head on the opposite side or any other easier way to tighten it. Just means I have to toss that plate and wrench in my bag in case the legs loosen back up. ... show more

  • It is a beast - but in a good way
This is an awesome tripod. Very sturdy. Good features and build quality. For me personally - it was overkill for my needs (Seestar Telescope). It is also quite heavy, as it should be, for use with larger/heavier equipment. It honestly was great, but did not meet my specific needs.

  • Good tripod legs
Small, lightweight. Your looking for portability when pick this type of reverse tripod. Know what your buying cheap but trusty do the job but can’t overweight with a heavy camera, need to add counter weight with water bottles because is very lite, hard wind on outdoors can end in a accident. You have to manage your equipment, with the right use this tripod is a powerful tool. Overall easy to travel, now days always use two cameras with tripods, without worrying for my luggage. ... show more
