This exquisite, 10-inches wide, strong and solid clear glass shade with etching all around, uses a regular screw type bulb that is easy to change without having to disassemble anything. The light bulb (not included) produces a very beautiful, vintage style prismatic light diffusion as it passes through the unique etching on the glass. The result creates lovely, yet bright and beautiful light patterns on the walls. The downwards facing bulb is open and so the emitted light is unhindered and brighter than covered bulb. This fixture is very attractive and eye-catching with a unique design. It combines brightness, beauty, elegance and attention to details for optimum effect. It incorporates a modern flair to its “Avant-garde retro design” that is perfect for a small room or localized areas. I am impressed with the look, as the etched, clear glass, and open housing, perfectly compliments the matte-black ceiling mount base. It blends perfectly with the light grey walls and white trim in the room. Truly a beautiful and eye-catching fixture when OFF. When the LED bulb is ON, the reflected patterned wall display showcases a unique elegance. We use a 60-watt LED (not included) that has a tiny switch, allowing for a “white” or “cool warm” which is our favorite as it is in the 3000K light temperature spectrum. Very easy to install. The fixture came very well packaged and secured. A ziplock bag also included a pair of white cotton gloves for installation, to prevent contaminants and marring of the pristine glass and housing. The base has an adjustable back-plate I used, to easily and securely install the unit onto an existing (and commonly used) ceiling mounted octagon can. The included bag contains wire connectors and screws to easily complete the install. As I was simply swapping out fixtures, the 2 wires led directly to the wall switch. For further ambience, I may replace the wall switch with a dimmer unit, but that’s for another time (unless my wife insists….then….oh well, it will be sooner than later). This fixture definitely added value to our home, and we all love the ambience and look it provided. ... show more
