  • I can breath underwater
Style: S300(GREEN)+Anti-lost Rope
I can finally breathe underwater. All jokes aside this is a solid device. I feel confident with it based on build quality and its ease of use. Can’t wait for summer to get more use out of it.

This is my second Smaco product and I love them all. It’s high quality and functions perfectly. I filled it up and tested it out with no issues. Can’t wait to use it for pool maintenance and when traveling on vacation to have fun with on the beach.

  • As a diver, I love it, nice improvements over previous version
Style: S300(green)+anti-lost Rope+adapter
I'm a PADI certified Divemaster as well as a certified tank inspector. I don't know for sure, but I believe I'm compelled by my certifying agency to speak about some of the safety concerns with this product. I'll get into that later. The product description talks about it being explosion-proof. Unfortunately, nothing is explosion-proof. And when you're talking about pressures as high as 3000PSI, something the size of this tank can easily kill people if it's not handled correctly. So lets talk about the DOT certification: The description says that the working pressure is 3000PSI. That is not correct. The markings on the bottle "3AL2900" means the DOT has only certified the working pressure of 2900PSI. That may not seem like a big difference, but if you repeatedly exceed the working pressure, you risk an explosion similar to the scene in Jaws.... you know where the shark explodes with a scuba tank in it's mouth... that can actually happen. It's not just Hollywood. The funny marking on the shoulder that sort of looks like "11A24" is the initial hydro test stamp. Before any high pressure tank can be used, and every 5 years after that, the DOT requires the tank to have a hydrostatic pressure test (hydro) to make sure the metal hasn't become brittle (which would cause it to explode with pressure). The "11" means November -- the month the hydrostatic pressure test was performed. The thing that looks like "A" is actually not an A, but the symbol that uniquely identifies the company that performed the Hydrostatic pressure test. The "24" is the year the hydrostatic test was performed. This is also an indication of when the tank was manufactured. So... November of 2024. So this tank will require another hydro in 2029. That test will cost about $30(USD). In addition to the Hydrostatic Pressure test, the DOT also requires a visual inspection by a certified tank inspector any time the valve is removed from the tank, prior to putting the valve back on. In this case, the tank came with the valve removed. The DOT would require a visual inspection of the tank before putting the valve on. The instructions that came with the tank, and the description of the product don't mention needing any visual inspection. A visual inspection costs about $12. The DOT requires a visual inspection of a high pressure tank at least once every calendar year, and anytime the valve and tank are separated (like for mailing, or carrying on an airplane). The DOT also requires a hydrostatic pressure test be performed at least every 5 years. High pressure tanks such as this are known to form tiny cracks over time. If a tank with a crack is filled to it's working pressure, it will explode causing a lot of damage, and can kill people. This version of the tank includes an over pressure relief valve. The description page for the pervious version indicated that it had one, but I wasn't able to find it if there was. The over pressure relief valve is an important safety feature. In the event that this tank is left in a warm car, or is in a fire, the pressure inside the tank could exceed the maximum pressure rating. If that were to happen, the tank would explode sending pieces of tank everywhere. That would do a lot of damage and could kill anyone who's in the vicinity. The over pressure valve will open before the pressure gets to a dangerous level. This tank is very small and light weight. I have another tank (a pony bottle) that I use for deep dives. But it is rather heavy and requires a mounting bracket to keep it in place during a dive. This is easier to strap on. It also takes up less room. This regulator doesn't have an on-off valve. I don't know if that's intended, or an oversight. However, the fact that it can never be turned off might actually be a safety feature. I had a dive buddy who ran out of air at depth during a deep dive. When he went to breath from his pony bottle, he didn't get anything. There is no way, one can ever forget to turn something on that can't be turned off. When you compare this to other products that are marketed to scuba divers, this is a very good value. I wont name names, but an almost identical product is being sold for 3x this price. ... show more

  • Great Small Tank
Style: S300(green)+anti-lost Rope+adapter
I got this mini scuba tank today and I could not be more impressed with it. I'm going to use it when I go snorkeling and I want to dive down just a little bit deeper. This little mini tank could be used as an emergency tank in a squeeze but it only gives you 5-10 minutes of air, normally backup tanks give you a little more air time. I don't need a ton of air time because I like snorkeling and wouldn't use this for an extended period of time. It's made of aviation aluminum, it can take 3,000 PSI, it is lightweight, and great for tight places. It has a maximum pressure for 33 feet of depth diving. It has a silicone mouthpiece, which is food grade silicone and very comfortable when you have it in your mouth. The tank is made very, very well made and is corrosion resistant. The sticker on the tank is easily removable if you don't want it on there, I took mine off with very little effort. Your regulator may or may not need to be adjusted, so have the dive shop take a look at it if you aren't certain how to do it. As a safety, if you're only using this small tank I would always use a stop watch to keep yourself aware of how much air you have left because a lot of gauges on small tanks aren't always 100% accurate. DOT has only certified this tank to 2900 PSI, and not the 3,000 PSI that's stated, so keep that in mind. The tank is very fun to use, but have your dive shop double check the settings prior to your first use. This tank is better than described and I highly recommend it! ... show more

  • Emergency Boat Prop Tank
Style: S300(green)+anti-lost Rope+adapter
First off... if you aren't familiar with how dangerous a tank like this can be you need to do some homework about how gasses expand as the pressure is reduced. If you take a DEEP BREATH from 10 feet under water and keep that air in your lungs on the way to the surface you can kill yourself. DO NOT just hand this off to the kids or anyone else that isn't familiar with SCUBA. For my use... this is the perfect tank to keep in the boat for prop inspection and repair. It's easy to store away until needed. I can fill it (slowly) with a high pressure hand pump, get a couple of minutes of air and then refill if necessary. The additional time this tank provides will make it possible to remove and replace a damaged prop under the boat (V-drive setup). Tank comes complete and ready to use. They provide a spare parts bag and the basic tools necessary to assemble / disassemble everything. You could empy the air and disassemble it and travel with it... but you'd have to find an air source upon arrival. You could also travel with a small manual pump but that would be a lot of extra stuff to take with you and would only make sense if no dive tank was available at the destination. ... show more
