  • I have both this and the ASO, and I tend to prefer this one.
Style: M(Ankle size:30-33cm)/Pack of 1
I have tried this and the ASO brand. What I prefer about this one-- the body of the brace, the part that goes against your foot, is a soft, pliable sort of fleecy material unlike the ASO which is like a backpack material and more stiff. I have had a lot of trouble figuring out whether to use the Small or the Medium of either brand-- both bunch up in my instep and heel. NEITHER brand fits inside my shoes except my Keen sandals, and those are stretched to their limit. My "normal" foot is 11.5" and with the brace on, my injured foot is 13.25" so I am not sure what kind of shoe they think can manage a 1.75" difference. The size guide tells you to measure your foot-- the injured one or the "normal" foot? I measured both- my "normal" foot is under 12" and the injured foot is 12.25" when it is not swelling. The small works on my injured foot with the straps all nearly too short, and with the medium I have all kinds of extra strap. BOTH sizes bunch up under my foot when I cinch the support straps tight enough to give support. The velcro does hold very well. The vertical support parts are the "scratchy" side of the velcro and the medium on the outside ankle is almost 2" higher than the brace but the "scratchy" is not grabbing my clothes. As far as pain relief-- my pain is about the same either with or without the brace. I'm still early in healing, just out of the CAM boot and into the brace a week ago. I can only walk 10 minutes or so and start getting pain in the dorsiflexion when I step off the ball of my foot. I am still struggling with an even gait especially when it is fatigued, so I am still using a cane or crutch if I am on my feet longer than 10-15 minutes. ... show more

  • Fixing old unknown injuries?
I am 24F with no known injuries to my ankles. And yet if I stand for more than 2 hours COLLECTIVELY during the day, I’m in excruciating pain the next day. I’ve been to 20+ docs and specialists with no answers. I’m assuming I probably have sprained one or both of my ankles previously and not been treated. This brace…. Oh my lord y’all. I can FEEEEEEL it changing my anatomy. I can feeeeeel new tendons and ligaments being used. I can feel a different gait happening and weird feelings in my knees and hips, in a good way. My normal pain is gone when I take the brace off. I do have some weird bone bruising type pain? Not sure if it’s from the brace or just my screwed up ankles being fixed. But that pain is so much more tolerable than my normal. It is kind of thick, but I can wear my tennis shoes over it fine, just have a really fat looking foot. It’s comfy, no hotter than shoes or socks normally are. Velcro holds great. A bit bulky but able to work around. And seriously helping heal old sprains and injuries. Definitely worth the money I spent. As someone living with unknown ankle pain for over a decade, buy this and fix yourself, doctors can get screwed. ... show more

  • Works For Me
Style: L(Ankle size:33-35cm)/Pack of 1
Been suffering from a weak left ankle due to some nerve damage. Especially noticeable when I'm playing golf and walking on uneven or hilly ground. Have only been using this ankle support for a couple of weeks but does support my ankle and keep it from "turning" on me when on uneven ground. A little confusing on how to put it on (put it on backwards the first time. Hint - Insert your toes into the LONG end of the brace not the SHORT end). Watched the videos and figured out what I was doing wrong. No issues wearing it with shoes, not too tight, not too loose. It provides the support I was looking for which is to keep my ankle stable. Only 4 Stars because I've only had for a short time and can't adequately judge long term use and quality of construction. ... show more

  • Must have ankle brace for sprain!
Style: M(Ankle size:30-33cm)/Pack of 1
I rolled my right ankle exactly 3 days ago while hiking. Sprained the ATFL (anterior talofibular ligament). Limped for about .5 mile then was religious about icing, elevating and compressing. I started searching out ankle braces and found this one on the morning of day 2. Because it would not arrive until the end of day 3 I had my husband pick up an ankle brace at CVS (NEO G Stabilized Ankle Support-universal size for left or right ankle). In a word: CRAP. My ace bandage gave more support. Today I noticed I was walking a little better and was able to start incorporating some dorsiflexion/plantarflexion range of motion, but walked with caution and hesitation. Any inversion was still quite tender and with walking I felt a bit vulnerable in the area below the lateral malleoli (ATFL). Not 5 minutes ago, the WHCOOL "Chevillere ankle support brace" arrived. I put it on and it is a friggin GAME CHANGER. I finally feel the support I have been wanting since I sprained it. It cinched up nice and tight but it is designed so I am not cutting off circulation. It is not bulky either. The photo in the ad on amazon kind of makes it look bulky, but trust me it is sleek. I am female, wear a size 9 shoe and I have small ankles. The medium size fits perfect. I am not a big review writer, but when I put this on I went straight to the computer. ... show more

  • Finally found a replacement after YEARS of searching
Style: M(Ankle size:30-33cm)/Pack of 1
I severely sprain my ankle a few weeks ago. I am known you do so at least once a year. I have weak ankles from being active and injuring it frequently. I have at least 6 or 7 braces because the one I LOVED finally died last year after 15 years of use. This one is fantastic if not BETTER then the one I used all the time. It almost instantly offered pain relief but it also supports better than any of the other ones I have purchased. DONT WALK, RUN TO THE BUY NOW BUTTON!!! ... show more

  • Quality ankle brace.
Style: M(Ankle size:30-33cm)/Pack of 1
Bought this brace after a bad ankle sprain. The compression and stability it provides allowed me to be back out on the field within a few days feeling very minimal pain. The Velcro is very strong and will stick to everything especially your socks. It is designed with 3 layers of wrap plus a compression sleeve so it does get a little difficult to fit into some shoes. In the end it mimics the way my high school trainer would take our ankles years ago but without wasting the tape and being reusable. ... show more
