  • Look out for the seniors on the go!
Color: Black
I got this for my sister who is 76 and lives alone after her husband passed. Her granddaughter had moved in with her a few years back to help out with running errands and getting around in general. That granddaughter got married and moved out recently, which stymied her running errands because of being unable to walk more than a few yards before needing to rest on her walker with a seat. She lives in a trailer park where the trash is put into a centralized dumpster and mail is also in a centralized cluster of mailboxes. Both of those are beyond what she can walk at one time, so she would have to get in her truck to get mail or take trash to the dumpster. The granddaughter and husband would take her to the store weekly and to any doctor’s appointments to push around the manual wheelchair for her. Needless to say my sister was worried about being dependent on someone else to do these things for her. I had been considering the purchase this wheelchair for several months, and decided to get it with a recent price drop. I’m really glad I got it and so is my sister. Finding out how much she enjoys it, I now in retrospect wish I had got it months ago. I wanted my sister to write a review on the wheelchair, but she’s been so busy since getting it that taking time to write a review has slipped her mind. She’s on the go all the time now. The granddaughter dropped by her house yesterday with calling first, and was astounded that she was out on her own – she was shopping at a major grocer/department store. I did get a few questions answered in phone conversations that can be helpful in this review. This seems to be the best bang for the buck I could find which met some necessary criteria. First, this needed to be lightweight – enough that an elderly person in reasonable health would be able to lift it in and out of a truck bed or into the jump seat area of the truck. It passed with being just a slight strain for her to lift it around. I told her that was good because she was getting some vital exercise that she wasn’t getting by other means. She agreed. Next it needed to be able to accommodate a wide rear end and carrying her weight. It passed both of these criteria and had power to spare. She had to learn to adjust to the level 1 of 5 power settings to maneuver in tight spaces at low speeds. She stated the top speed was more than adequate. The charge needed to last for some endurance. It’s rated at going 15 miles on one charge. So far she’s not had to charge it but the initial time -- having taken several trips to the stores and restaurants, and one to the doctor’s office. She stated today that it was getting low enough that she was going to put it to charge. Granted that she doesn’t travel very far with exception of going to a big store a few times. That’s pretty impressive. I think there is so instruction she mentioned that you need to let the battery drain down a ways before recharging to keep up the battery life. She’s had some problems steering it, but I noticed in a photo that she seemed to be using the palm of her hand to move the joystick. I suggested she grab the handle like a conventional joystick on a game console. She told me she was having issues moving her wrists, but followed my advice. She is now getting some more exercise moving her wrist that she wasn’t doing beforehand. She admitted it was much easier to steer, and that the discomfort in her wrist is now minimal. The chair has an electronic display that indicates the settings and the battery life. There is also a vocal feature that states when you are moving and doing other things. One that annoyed her was stating she was backing up. She found a way to disable the voice. I think having the availability of that feature is a good thing for seniors who get confused from time to time as a reminder of what you are doing, just in case that’s not what you intended. There is a ramp which my sister must go up and down, but she’s not yet comfortable riding that slope in the chair. She is able to quickly fold up the chair with the back still upright, and use those push handles like a walking to traverse that area. This is another time where she is getting a bit of vital exercise she wouldn’t normally get by simply walking around the house. This was on the low end of cost for such wheelchairs, but it has met the criteria I wanted. It also has some features above and beyond those criteria. My sister admitted that in the 3 weeks she’s had this chair she seems to have more energy overall, and a more robust outlook on life in general. Not being cooped up in the house has been great for her mental state. If you have a friend or relative in this situation, I would highly recommend this wheelchair. It has a sleek look, is easy to fold/unfold, seems sturdy, has some back wheels for good stability, and is easy to adjust the controls. Look out for the seniors on the go! ... show more

  • You get what you pay for, pretty dang good
Color: Black
Overall I'd give this thing a 4.5/5, but I'll round it up. Only owned this thing for a week so far, but so far so good. I use it for injury recovery when I'm unable to use both an arm and a leg so I still have muscle control so just wanted to put that out there as my experience with this wheelchair will definitely be different from others, but I'll keep it as technical as possible. Padding - First thing I noticed when looking at the pictures and when I got it in. The padding/mesh is very thin, but honestly still pretty comfortable. I don't use it for long periods of time, but if I had to I feel like it would become uncomfortable after a few hours, so if you could find padding for just the seat somewhere else I'd go for it. Frame/Build Quality - Overall it's aluminum and plastic so it can feel fairly cheap, but you get what you pay for. Regardless, it feels sturdy enough for indoor/light outdoor use. One big issue I ran into is the weight/weight distribution of the wheelchair. Because it's light and the position of the battery/motor, if you're on an incline and you go over like say a door bump, there's a chance you might tilt and even fall backwards as I almost did. Weight/Portability - Even as a big dude this thing is pretty light so it's really easy to fold up and get into the car. I drive an SUV so there's plenty of space, but when testing it in my friends 25 Corolla, it was still just as easy. Motor/Speed - There's 5 tiers of power you can switch between them. When I'm at home or in the office, Power 1 is more than enough to get me around. I only use Power 5 when I'm going up the ramp or parking garage at work. I'm 265lbs and I get more than enough speed/power going up the inclines. Driving/Turning - The turning honestly isn't the most responsive thing in the world, but it does its job. I notice that when going straight sometimes and need to turn, it doesn't respond and I end up hitting something or getting off track. Only thing that can really help this is by slowing down a ton or just straight up stopping and then turning. If I wanted to start off by turning right then it'll do it fine, but it seems to have issues after going straight. ... show more

  • Poorly designed wheelchair. I think its dangerous and should be recalled.
Color: Black
I thought this would be a great chair. it's inexpensive so time will tell how long it lasts. The lithium batteries are a double plus- better range between charges and makes the chair WAAAAY easier for an assistant to handle due to much lower weight than lead based batteies it was easy to set up, good instructions, etc. BUT (isn't there always a "but"?) The center of gravity is WAY too close to the rear. The driveshaft centers of the two motors are located 1 inch forward of the back of the seat, whereas the motor shafts on a safe wheelchair that i recently bought from amazon are positioned a full three inches BEHIND the seats back. This means if I am outside or on any type of incline, the wheelchair wants desperately to pull a wheelie on me and dump me head over backwards, usually to land with the back of my head hitting concrete. This actually happened TWICE to me today , both times with attendants who were aware of the problem. Thank heavens i didnt get a concussion- It's simply dangerous if not on a flat surface. Included are two absurd ''stabilizer bars" with tiny wheels that you can bolt to the rear of the chair just behind the rear wheels, but these tiny wheels are just a poorly designed bandaid for a really dangerous wound! They are bolted so tightly to their shafts that they dont turn at all, and so small that they stick or drag in dirt or anything for that matter, and they are positioned so if they are actually needed its too late because the front wheels are already off the ground by then, and if installed they make the chair so long that it won' turn around in a hallway anymore. Buyer beware. i got dumped three times in 2 days, and I was aware of this each time trying to be careful... Ugly surprise! ... show more

If you’re interested in this wheelchair the Midivente D3-F is the exact same wheelchair as the Zurcheel SLF30. Both sold here on Amazon, both are made by the same company and both have the same customer service number, address etc. so compare their pricing. When my Zurcheel wheelchair arrived it was in a Zurcheel box with the Midivente model # D3-F. I called the company rep and asked if they are selling the same wheelchair under different names and she said yes the wheelchairs are exactly the same and that the two companies merged. BTW the customer service with this company is Excellent! That’s the main reason I bought my wheelchair from them based on my particular needs and their great customer service. When i called them I got no answer and left no message but within several minutes they called me! The lady answered all my questions and was very helpful. I asked if the wheelchair drive wheels had resistance when someone is pushing it and she said YES it does but not as much as when the controller is turned on which locks the wheels. I asked this question because one of the reviewers said when the unit is turned off it goes to manual mode and can be pushed easily, Not So! There is some resistance because the drive wheel motors uses “Brushes” and are not brushless. Someone can still push this wheelchair but the drive wheels won’t move as freely. I knew this before I ordered it as I intended to use battery power so my wife wouldn’t have to push me as I’m 6’4 250lbs. I also thought she “may” be able to load my wheelchair in our car trunk since it only weighs 38lbs but after lifting it myself I don’t want her to do it because of her bone density issues. It’s more awkward than anything putting it in our Prius trunk but it works. I looked at other wheelchairs that only weighed 25-28lbs but when you add their 10lb battery it’s about the same weight as mine plus some of their customer service reviews were dismal. My wheelchair is very comfortable, I use a seat pad at times, the chair is built solid with nice welds, my batteries were dead when I got it but only took 4 1/2 hours to fully charge it, the charger does get a little warm and goes from red to green light when charged, holds a charge nicely, I use it for short trips only and haven’t driven it 12 miles and don’t intend to, mine did come with high quality manual brakes that work great. I wont use the seat belt but I did install the tip over wheels. Im also ordering a bag that fits over the back seat to carry my oxygen tanks along with a side bag/cup holder. All in all I knew what I was getting when I ordered this wheelchair and I consider it a good value with great customer service before and after the sale and I would recommend it if it fits your and your family particular needs. I looked and researched “All” the electric wheelchairs that’s selling on Amazon and bought this one and I don’t regret it and I would buy it again! Thank you Zurcheel/Midivente for your outstanding customer service! Also, when folded and putting chair in trunk keep the plastic controller facing UP so it doesn’t get crushed. UPDATE: Can you believe this? Out of the blue today Heather from Zurcheel’s Customer Service called me today and wanted to know if there were any issues or concerns I am having with my wheelchair and if I had any questions for them and if so they are here to help. REALLY? There is such a thing as great customer service and Heather at Zurcheel proves it! I have been using my wheelchair now for almost 2 months with no complaints. The wider seat makes a big difference in comfort, the chair has extra bracing to support 300lbs, The batteries hold a charge for a very long time and I have yet to have a need to charge mine however I only use my chair in my home or for doctors appointments. I have also learned that if needed I can disconnect the controller from the chair arm and have my wife use it while walking behind or beside me. It’s nice to know in case I have a stroke. FYI - Zurcheel also has a seperate controller available if needed for that purpose. I had researched all the electric chairs on Amazon and found a few that fit my needs and some costing thousands of dollars more than mine but their customer service reviews turned me off. What good is the best most expensive wheelchair in the world if not backed up by the company? I believe the good folks at Zurcheel truly care about their customers as they make a high quality low cost easy to use wheelchair knowing that we are dealing with enough problems in life already. Based on my review one might think I work for them or am paid for my review, neither is true. I’m terminally ill and only want to give credit where credit is due while I still have time to do so. ... show more

  • The Best Power Wheel Chair I could get for my needs
Color: Black
Just what I wanted. The User Guide states it is for smooth paved surfaces. I have a Golden Companion ($2,000) mobility scooter, which is perfect for "off road" travel. This $700 electric wheelchair is not the same thing, and I am more comfortable with it on paved surfaces. I am disabled and will be getting rid of my car this year. With the power lift on the back of the SUV, I could take the Golden Companion with me. I will no longer soon be able to do that, so I began looking for an alternative. This SFL30 turned out to be spot on after my significant research. Weight was the #1 factor for my search, as I will be relying on assisted transportation. At about 30 pounds and folded up like a large suit case, it works for me. At 215 , 6 feet, the 19" seat and full size chair is also a plus. My use will be pretty much limited to, going to, use at, and coming from medical, dental and veterinary facilities (I have a 9 year old service dog that I have worked with to walk with me and the wheelchair. For my needs, this chair to be spot on and I would buy it again, as the price is a bargain in my opinion. My only wish is that it had a manual brake. The Wheel Chair moves when I stand up, which I find scary at times. It has an electronic braking system, and I have not extensively tried that and am not really sure how much I will trust it yet. The Wheel chair does come to a stop when I take my hand off the control stick, but it still moves when I stand, as it can be pushed with the power off. I bought a manual brake to attach to each side and think that ought satisfy me. I bought another 5.2 AH battery and will keep it charged and with the chair. If I lose power at some point, this chair will operated with one battery, which ought get me home. Personally, I think I made a good choice. I have been using this for over a month now and will post my current opinion: I still think this is just what I was looking for. I have the Golden Power Scooter for off paved areas. It is heavy and does not turn in tight circles. The Zurcheel is light enough and folds into large suitcase size for me to carry to transportation vehicle. I will not rely upon it for off the paced surfaces. I find it very good for in-door and on paved surfaces. I use it 2-3 hours in-doors and the power charge drops from 4 lights to 1 light. I then recharge it for a few hours, back to 4 lights. This is working for me just fine. I did buy another battery to have for if I got out with an extended range in mind. The batteries seem to give multple hours of travel and I will not be more than 10 miles from home with this, or any power scooter for that matter. I am glad I got the 19" wide power wheel chair, as I am sure the 17" models would be too tight to be comfortable. The charger and extra battery fit nicely in the bag that comes with the chair, so it is easy to take with me if I travel with this chair, which I might this Summer. The only negative I still have is that the manual hand brakes that the image shows were not on my unit. Sure, a minor bummer, but none the less a bummer. Turn the power off and the chair is easy to push. With power on, it is tough to push and is not stationary. Overall, I found this an excellent in-door electric wheel chair for use in tight spaces. Update: After a year of use I still really like this electric wheel chair. "Best" is a term each person uses for their personal view. Mine focuses on size, weight, maneuverability. At 6 foot, 220 pounds, the size is good for my sitting in the unit. While ridding the unit, the size works well for me in elevators, small offices and my apartment. When transporting the unit, the size works well for me when it folds in the vertical position. I have encounter no negatives in my use thus far. I have learned that batteries on these electric wheel chairs do run down. Looking for a replacement battery I found the cost at $170 per ... thus $340 for the two. At $600 on Amazon for a new unit that comes with two batteries, I bought a new unit, as I figured it was only $260 for the new body. All components are new and updated. I do not want any malfunctions on any trip to a medical/dental appointment ... its worth the $260 to me for the peace of mind it gives me. ... show more

  • Possibly best wheelchair available
Color: Black
After a one year search for a power wheelchair, purchasing and returning 3 chairs. I purchased Zurcheel. This is definitely the BEST power chair on the market in spite of one feature that is a problem for me. That problem is the foot rests/ pedals are not adjustable and are 6 inches off the floor. I am unable to lift my legs onto the foot rests..l paid someone to lower them but they broke after a couple days. I am looking into a couple alternatives. Other than foot rest issue this chair is terrific. Easily folded and under 40 lbs, it can be loaded into a vehicle easily for most. The seat is comfortable and even though there are no sidewalls, the design allows you to place a beverage container in either back.corner. The bag that is included is a generous size. The power is very impressive. I only use more than first speed when I am going up an incline. As for battery life, l am not sure because I rarely use this chair outside my tiny apartment. Sometimes I have 4 bars for 48 hours, sometimes there will be 4 bars for only 36 hours. What is troubling is that when it switches to 3 bars,it may be only 5 hours until it switches to 2 and just a couple hours til there's just one bar. If I am unable to charge it immediately, I am a bit anxious but I have never reached the red bar before charging. Lastly, as other reviews have mentioned, the Customer Service is amazing. In my 75 years, I have never had a better experience with Customer Service. Heather conveys a genuine desire to help and she has called me twice to confirm l am happy. My only real complaint is that I bought the wheelchair on Amazon for $699 and price dropped to $599 just a few days later. Amazon refused to adjust the price which l think was a lousy policy. ... show more

Suffering from degenerative stenosis in the lumbar and thoracic spine, even using a walker can be a major effort. I needed a mobility solution that is comfortable, lightweight, battery powered, good speed, and a reasonable travel distance per charge. I caught this on sale for under $500 and it has provided exactly the mobility solution needed at this very moment in my journey. I highly recommend this make and model. • Not as strong as we had hoped
Color: Black
I don’t know how it would perform on outdoor terrain, as we have only had it since December, and not many opportunities to use it on anything except floors in our home, sidewalks and pavement. That being said, it actually sometimes has trouble going over a threshold. I bought it for my husband, and he says that it’s comfortable enough to sit in for an hour or so, but the strength of the motor and/or grip of the wheels fall a little short. Also, the foot pedals do not appear to be adjustable, nor do they swing away; making them in the way sometimes. There is no padding on the arm rests, the bottom edges are a little sharp. We kept it, because hopefully he will not need it for long, and he needed to practice using one if he wanted to get around on his own. It does fold nicely, so fairly easy to put into a trunk or the back of an suv. ... show more
