I have been working with it for over a year and is working perfectly in my lab, for small batches of cosmetics. The stirring works except when it becomes viscous, for example for a liquid gel cleanser, after adding the gums and becoming more viscous, it stops stirring when I do 1lt batch. The hot plate work great, but you can’t tell the temperature because the control is generic. So you need to use the thermometer to keep graduating the heat. Still is a great acquisition for a small lab, I really love it! Specially for slow melting, heating and stirring liquids.

Works great! Stir feature has been on constantly for 12 hours/ day for about 30 days now with no issues. I have not tested the heat feature yet. It does produce some slight heat on the plate when using only the stir feature for more than 6-8 hours (about 80 degrees F of heat).

This is a very nice economical heater stirrer. The heating plate is large allowing for greater quantities of liquid. The magnetic stirrer worked perfectly.

This is my 3rd hot plate of this kind and it has broken twice, I will return the 3rd one once I have a replacement. The first one was my fault, I had the analog heat control turned up then plugged it in and it melted the wires together inside. The second one was running for a few months and last night it just stopped getting hot. So now I am running extractions on the stove top til I get this new one.. I run an mushroom and herbal extraction business and I need to keep these running daily. I am buying a $250 one and going to try that out. It may last you a few months, maybe a year. I run these things for 12-16 hrs at a time so they can't take the use for too long.

I haven't extensively tested this device, but right out of the box I noticed the surface of the hot plate was not flat. I used a straight edge and calipers and measured the gap to be 4 mm approximately. The issue is that glassware rocks back and forth making the setup seem unstable and suboptimal for heat conduction. I will likely return this.

It worked as advertised but just remember it’s not digital so you can’t just set it and forget it as far as the temperature goes, you need to start off low and pay attention slowly working your way up. Are used it to maintain a temperature of 100°F in a 2 L beaker at room temperature while stirring at various speeds for several hours with no issues.
