Description

Our American-brand Fristaden Lab stirrer hotplate is ideal for low-viscosity heating and mixing projects in your home, lab or workplace. It can be used as a magnetic mixer, hotplate, or both; the two 3D knobs independently control speed and temperature. The magnetic stir bar mixes liquids quickly and evenly. The strong magnetic field forces the stir bar to stay in place while mixing. The hotplate is stainless steel with a ceramic coating for fast heating and even heat disbursement. The machine is built from durable, lab-quality materials designed to last for years. The digital hotplate is ideal in the laboratory, classroom, workshop or home for science projects, such as biodiesel making, home brewing, wine making, yeast mixing, aromatherapy, and more. It works fast and efficiently, saving you time while providing accurate results. The large LED display accurately reflects the temperature and stirring speed. Our digital magnetic stirrer hotplate includes a PT1000 sensor to accurately measure the liquid’s temperature, as well as a support stand. When the sensor is connected, the LED display automatically alternates between the sensor and the hot plates' temperatures. The temperature display accuracy is ±0.1˚C. The stirrer is easy to set up. The support stand requires a single screw (screw driver included) to assemble. A magnetic stir bar is included with the unit. The maximum magnetic stir bar size is 55mm x Φ10mm. We recommend purchasing a beaker up to maximum volume of 5000mL, if you don’t already have one in your home or lab. The stirrer hotplate requires a standard 110V 50/60Hz outlet to operate. It can easily be disassembled and put away when not it use. Can the stirrer mix high-viscosity liquids? No, for high-viscosity liquids, we recommend our overhead stirrers. If you have a question regarding a specific liquid for mixing, please let us know and we can tell you whether this model stirrer can mix it or which of our stirrers we'd recommend. Water is taking too long to boil. How can I speed this process? To heat water or any liquid faster, adjust the temperature to the highest degree. Do not plug in the temperature probe. Use a small amount of liquid (500ml or less) and cover over the beaker, if possible. This will speed the process to the liquid's boiling point. What is included with the Fristaden Lab Hotplate Stirrer? This complete set includes a Fristaden Lab Digital Magnetic Hotplate Stirrer, PT1000 temperature sensor, support stand holder for temperature probe (pictured), magnetic stir bar, power cord, and user manual. We recommend ordering a beaker (max. capacity 5000ml) if you don't already have on in your home or lab. Can I replace a part? Yes, we offer replacement parts. If your machine is not working as specified, we can also send you a new unit. Will the hotplate rust? No, the hotplate will not rust under normal use. The hot plate is stainless steel with a ceramic coating. Ceramic is used because it of it's anti-corrosive properties and durability. More Questions? We are happy to help you. We are a small American business and we take pride in delivering high-quality lab equipment you can trust. We understand it's frustrating when a product does not work as specified or a user manual is difficult to understand. Your experience is important to us.

  • After some initial challenges boiling water, this hotplate works great.
Material Type: Plastic
I got my new hotplate. This is my first hotplate and chemistry is a hobby, so I have no formal training. My first test was to boil water. I put 250ml of water in a 500ml beaker. I inserted the probe. I set the temperate to 100C and turned on the hot plate with some mild stirring. Everything seemed to be going great until about 97C. Then I waited. And waited. And waited. I thought maybe something was defective. I checked the probe temperature against another digital thermometer and they we the same. But the water would not get above 97C and would go down a bit and then come back up a bit. In figured 600W was plenty of heating to boil water. I tried heating canola oil to 180C and it worked fine. Also, I was able to boil water in an oil bath with the probe and some boiling stones just fine. I went back and boiled the water by cranking up the hotplate to 280C. After the water boiled, I was able to keep the water boiling by using the probe and setting the temperature to 110C. This may be well known to people with formal training, but the issue seems to be the heating algorithm. It tries to heat the substance slowly, but, my guess, is that the water starts to evaporate enough as it gets close to 100C that without a little extra punch of heat, the hotplate heats enough to evaporate the liquid but not boil it. It also may be the beaker and other vessels with better heat transfer work better. Anyway, it is not a big deal to crank up the temperature manually a bit to get the water to boil. ... show more

  • Perfect
Material Type: Plastic
Works great. Does a good job stirring and heating. I use it for candle making and it works great. The hot plate does take awhile to cool down. Also it is in C only so I have to keep a F chart handy.

  • Great for Delta "8"

Fantastic device - the external temperature sensor/wand is dope too. Didn't need it but it's nice to have. Great for making "hemp" products.

  • not what I was hoping for
Material Type: Plastic
first off the temperature control is in C, no big deal I can convert it to F. 2- when you put your sample in a beaker and put the temperature probe in your sample, turn the hot plate on and set is lets say to 110C, the hot plate gets a whole lot hotter than 110C. until the sample gets to 110C the hot plate will be way over that. your sample will get a lot hotter than 110C, given time it will drop to what you want. they talk about a separate probe that I guess tells the temperature of the hot plate it self and I guess it keeps the plate from going over 110C( your set temperature) in order to avoid burning your sample I guess I will have to have 2 samples on the hot plate one with corn oil with the temp probe in it and when the hot plate and sample settle into the same temp then put my real sample on the plate, I was hoping you set the temperature and the plate itself would get to the set temp and not go any higher ooo well live and learn ... show more
