Solid, useful product made of high quality materials that comes in “not ugly” colors. Highly adjustable. Purchased the smallest size and tightened all straps down to their shortest adjustments to fit a 13 pound dog. I don’t think you could go smaller than this. Seatbelt strap pull-through is straightforward enough that children can handle the harnessing and seatbelt duties. Gives the pup enough slack to even lie down in the seat. Chest protector area seems stiff at first, but based on the safety description it appears to be designed to be that way. Seems to gain flexibility after a few uses. Overall harness I seems comfortable enough for walks at a destination (have not used it for long walks near home, as it’s essentially our car & trip harness). High quality & durable nylon straps: soft, fine weave. No dye transfer observed of any kind. I love when a product is high quality and works well.

No more crate in the car. This is how I will travel with my sealyham terrier from now on. 3 days driving from the mid Atlantic area to Southern Florida, and she was well secured but able to move around, stand, sit, lay down, and turn around. Once you set the seat belt with the clip, it is one and done and unless a human needs that seat, you just leave it in place and the dog is in and out of the belt very easily through the harness every time. When you get out of the car, just leave it on and attach your leash. Watch the video about how to set it up and no problems.

I bought this after researching because I want to keep my dog safe in my car. I have a border collie who is on the smaller side. While the rear strap adjusts to fit him, he is smaller in the neck and chest than the harness adjustments will tighten to fit. This means that it is really loose around his neck. We had to stop quickly a couple of weeks ago, going about 35 mph, and the harness twisted on him. I pulled over and readjusted but I'm not sure what to do about this.

I actually have two of these harnesses. One for my big dog and one for my smaller dog. I like them a lot. I’ll go ahead and start by saying I’ve been in two car accidents with my roughly 50 pound dog in this harness and she’s been totally fine. So I can say they do work in car accidents. The personality of the dog does have some effect on the harness, though. My bigger dog is calmer, so she sits very well with the harness. She doesn’t try very hard to move. My smaller dog has a lot more energy and a lot more anxiety. So sometimes she’ll try to spin in place with the harness on, and has tangled herself in the seatbelt a couple of times. Meaning, I have to stop and pull over to fix her. However, the more she wears it in the car, the more she learns not to do that. My big dog actually freaks out a bit if she doesn’t have the harness on now. I think, in addition to providing the safety in the case of an accident, it gives her more of a sense of stability. She feels safe and secure because she’s stable in the seat instead of wobbling the way a dog that’s not buckled in does. The harness is also very simple and easy to put on. And I’ve never had a problem running the seatbelt through the straps the way it’s supposed to. I actually really like that this harness relies on the car seatbelts instead of hooking it to something in the car like other car, safety harnesses. My biggest complaint is that I frequently have to re-tighten it. Both of my dogs pull and it will make the straps slip a little loose. I have actually had both dogs, loosen it enough to pull it over their head and slip out. So I don’t think it’s great for walking and I do think you have to keep an eye on the straps. I know that sounds a little counterintuitive since it’s a car, safety harness, but I think it might be on purpose. There has to be a little bit of so that the straps don’t actually hurt the bones in an event of the accident. It lens with a sharp jerk. More constant pressure.

I've been wanting to get one of these for months and it was worth it. I can tell she feels more comfortable and secure in it compared to her old harness. She can still put her nose out the window and doesn't slide or voice her discomfort. Buckling her in is a bit of a hassle but I'd say it's worth it given the security it provides her and peace of mind it provides me in the event of an accident. Def have treats ready to reward when they're being calm and relaxed B)
