My 2 Dobermans can't back out of these harnesses, which has happened with collars and other harnesses due to their small necks and heads. We also use 2 leashes, one hooked to the front, and one on the back just to be extra safe. (They hate the dozens of deer we see on our daily 2 mile walks and will try to chase them) The buckles are durable, haven't broken. This is my 2nd. Loved the first! Issue I have with the new one is I cannot fit the strap back through the locking slider. I’ve tried everything, now the harness gradually loosens each walk. I’m unsure if the strap is thicker than before or if mine is just defective

Let me start off with I have a 2 year old male Australian Shepherd who weighs 52 pounds. His neck is 16”, girth is 26” and his length is 27-28”. He’s pretty barrel chested but has a very slim waistline and tuck up. We are not a stranger to the Icefang tactical vests. Previous to receiving the 3/4 body vest we owned the 1/2 body vest. I’ve included side by side comparisons as well. We’ve had our 3/4 body vest a few months now and I can already tell I’m going to like this one a lot more than the 1/2. His 1/2 body vest was a Medium and by sizing standards he should be a medium but I went with a large. The 3/4 fits better in my opinion and there is less bunching/ fabric behind the armpit so I don’t have to worry about him chafing. The neck/chest area seems to be too lose though atleast for his body but he’s narrow width wise. I like that there is two sets of rear buckles as well as a total of 3 D rings to choose to hook your lead to. The neck line on the 3/4 one sits a tad lower and the chest area is a bit more roomy since they’re not made the same. There are reports of people saying the front D ring has been ripped out but like in my review for the 1/2 harness I believe that has a lot more to do with a dogs training than a products strength. The only things I didn’t like about the harness are the handle placement and the buckle choices. With the 1/2 vest the handle sits right behind the dogs neck horizontally while the 3/4 vest the handle sits vertically on the spine. With the adjustment to the handle you end up losing the extra patch space that the 1/2 has which is a bummer because we use our vest with patches since my dog has fear of strangers and wears patches that say so making it easier for people to realize he’s not to be petted on our outings. The last thing and probably the most frustrating is the fact that this model doesn’t have the option for all metal quick release buckles like the two in the front. I do dog grooming as a profession so at the end of the day my fingers and wrists tend to hurt so the metal buckles make a world of difference for someone like me. Had the 3/4 had all metal buckles I probably would have bought it instead of the 1/2 originally. If they ever decided to update the vest with the options of all metal buckles I’d be more than happy to pay a little extra for them. Overall though this is a very nice and well made vest and I’m excited to see how it hold up overtime. ... show more

This is the third icefang vest I've bought! They are beyond a great product. Very versatile, and strong as can be! I recommend these for anyone with a bigger dog especially. They give a lot of control without hurting the animal. Also works well as a compression/ thunder vest. My dogs absolutely love theirs. 👍👍👍👍 ... show more

My dog busted out of other harnesses, buckles broke, and stitching wore out. Not this harness though! Wow everything is quadruple-stitched. The metal snap buckle clips are ingenious. Extra loops for leash hook up at chest, shoulders and mid back. All truly military strength. It weighs a bit more than a normal harness but I think that makes her feel calmer or like she has a “job”. ... show more

Nice harness, very well made, the quick release buckles make it much easier to put on and take off Once you have the harness adjusted properly for your dog, (which took about 1/2 hr.) I cut off the extra strapping with about 4" of play and just ran the excess threw the buckles so they don't get snagged on anything!! highly recommend ! the rear hook on the harness works great in stopping the leashes from getting wrapped up in their hind legs. ... show more

I’ll go ahead and tell you right now that if you’re looking for a harness for your dog, just buy this one. My 85 pound German Shepherd always hated the skimpy little harnesses that we bought, but this one is so sturdy and comfortable I can literally pick him up by the top handle and hold him. The buckles are made of metal and all the Molle straps seem double stitched. It does not impede his movement. This harness has been underwater, frozen in snow, And covered in mud too many times to count and hasn’t shown a single flaw. There is a lot of adjustment. My dog fits in a large at about half adjustment on the straps. ... show more
