I've bought three of these now, mostly because they are quite comfortable to sleep in. I'm done now. The longest one has ever lasted is 8 months. The latest one hasn't even lasted two before the battery stopped charging. If that's all I can expect out of it I'll just start buying cheaper ones rather than keep wasting $100. ... show more

    • Comfortable but turning on and off at night is frustrating

I recently bought these to upgrade from a "standard" pair of sleep headband earphones. It definitely feels more comfortable than the generic pair I had and I like how the controls are all tucked into the headband rather than directly on the front. My old one has a really annoying "feature" when it's running low on battery and flashes it's light. I can navigate the button by feel through the headband, but the instructions say that you will hear through the headphones "power on" or "power off" when you turn it on or off, but I am not hearing any sound feedback. So usually I just turn it on before I put on the headband on and watch for the little red light. I'm not sure why the instructions state there is a voice when turning it on or off, because that just isn't happening for me. ... show more

I need to listen to music or audiobooks or podcasts to fall asleep. This allows me to do so without disturbing my roommate. An added benefit - though not anywhere near noise-canceling ability - is that it also reduced (but didn't eliminate) the amount of snoring or external sounds I could hear. Generally comfortable for side-sleeping and also possible to sleep on back; however, the battery pack can get in the way and be uncomfortable for back-sleeping. For future models I'd recommend putting the battery in the front as virtually no one sleeps facedown. Battery lasts multiple nights between charges. Generally easy to remove battery to recharge. I wear a full-face cpap mask and it fit fine underneath. ... show more

Liked: no uncomfortable ear buds, sound quality is decent, good battery life. Disliked: to position the speakers over my ears, I had to bring the headband forward over my forehead. Feels unnatural and makes me look goofy.

I got the small size because I’m a petite person. They are way too big. I tried washing and drying the band and it’s still too big. It doesn’t stay in place on my head at all. I wake up with it around my eyebrows and partially covering my eyes - always. When I read the comments about how the internal components move a lot, I had no idea how maddening that would be. You don’t even have to touch it for the components to move around inside the band so when you need to use it, you have to wrestle with the internal components to get them back in the right place first.     • Upgraded battery is great! Speakers hold up for about a year.

It isn't the best sound quality, but for white noise they are perfect! The upgraded battery pack also is a big plus as the battery does deteriorate over time and can get to the point they may not last the night. In terms of comfort, the battery pack does kind of stick out, so you need to position it well to not interfere with sleep. Also the speakers themselves have a little bit of width so if you sleep on your side you may need to adjust. These are far thinner than the cheaper alternatives which actually hurt my ears. These do not! Another downside is the speakers also wear out (some internal wires are really thin) and aren't something you can service yourself. So every year or so I need to buy a new set of speakers. That + worn battery makes it worth while to just get a new set. Think of this as a consumable at $.25 a night. ... show more

    • Quality Has Dropped Significantly Over the Years

Buyer beware -- this review is for fans of the SleepPhones that may find themselves here in need of a replacement. I bought my first pair of SleepPhones back in 2019. They lasted about three years, and worked great. Sure, they were a little overpriced, but they were much better quality than the other sleepband-style headphones on the market. (I've tried others -- the issue with the knockoffs were the speakers weren't as thin, so they'd dig into your ears if you're a side sleeper.) I bought a second pair in 2022 -- those worked for about two years before they kicked the bucket, but were still comfortable. My third pair, ordered in April 2024, was obviously inferior quality -- the speakers have gotten less thin, so they dug into my ears unlike my 2019 and 2022 models. I still had my broken 2022 pair to compare, and it was clear the speakers had changed. This is really disappointing, and I'm back to searching for a replacement. I just received a pair of Anker Soundcore Sleep A20s from Kickstarter, so I'm hoping those'll work better. ... show more
