I have owned numerous inexpensive sleep headphones of this style, there are MANY available on Amazon. Needing to replace my previous inexpensive sleep headphones, I decided to try this EXTREMLY EXPENSIVE model that claims to be better than the rest (for the difference in price, they better be!) BIG MISTAKE! This SleepPhones version has many serious design issues, among them: The bluetooth module with the power/volume buttons must be REMOVED FROM THE HEADBAND every time you want to access the buttons. These buttons are externally accessable on every inexpensive version I have tried. There is nothing in the headband to stop the speakers from wandering around. The inexpensive versions have pockets that prevent this from happening. I was NEVER able to get the speakers aligned on my ears, even after removing everything and reinstalling it. Laying on the speakers hurt my ears far more than the inexpensive versions. The directions state that the label is supposed to be worn in the back of the headband. This places the bluetooth module with the controls on the BACK of your head, instead of on your forehead in an accessable position like the inexpensive models. SERIOUSLY, do not waste your money and have to return this like I did. Go for one of the far CHEAPER and BETTER inexpensive versions. ... show more

I tried multiple other sleep headbands before I decided to spend more money and give this one a try. I needed something that I could play movies or music at a decent volume without disturbing my husband’s sleep. This works great for my adhd to get me back to sleep. The band is comfortable and not too hot (and I’m a hot sleeper). The speakers are super thin, but still a little hard. It bothers my ears slightly, but I’m still able to sleep with it. Sound quality is good. For the price, it’s a little awkward. You have to take the device out of the band to charge it, there is a lot of wiggle room so it moves quite a bit. I wear the remote on my forehead rather than the back of my head so that it doesn’t put pressure on the base of my skull when I sleep. It works well, but I wish it were more user friendly and cheaper. It would also be nice if there was more cushion on the speakers. ... show more

    • Excellent hardware in a shody headband

I bought this because the Musicozy sleeping headphones I purchased were impossible to sleep in, the speakers were too large and uncomfortable for sleeping. The SleepPhones are fantastic for sleeping, they're slim and barely noticeable with great sound quality. But the headband they come with is cheap, poorly fitting, and doesn't keep the speakers in place. The Musicozy headband is much better made, has pockets sewn into it to hold hardware, and is more comfortable, so I tried squeezing the hardware from the SleepPhones into it and it works reasonably well. For the price of the SleepPhones I expected a headband at least as good as the Musicozy that are about 10% the cost, but was disappointed. The hardware inside the headband is worth the price, but you'll probably need to find some other headband to put them in. ... show more

    • Upgraded battery is great! Speakers hold up for about a year.

It isn't the best sound quality, but for white noise they are perfect! The upgraded battery pack also is a big plus as the battery does deteriorate over time and can get to the point they may not last the night. In terms of comfort, the battery pack does kind of stick out, so you need to position it well to not interfere with sleep. Also the speakers themselves have a little bit of width so if you sleep on your side you may need to adjust. These are far thinner than the cheaper alternatives which actually hurt my ears. These do not! Another downside is the speakers also wear out (some internal wires are really thin) and aren't something you can service yourself. So every year or so I need to buy a new set of speakers. That + worn battery makes it worth while to just get a new set. Think of this as a consumable at $.25 a night. ... show more

The design of this item requires the user to fish the control device out of the headband. The opening to the headband is small, and this task is not easy to accomplish. Even to turn the device on and off, the user must fish out the controller. Also, the photos of this product are quite deceptive. They make the headband look plush and cushioned. It is not. It is a flat headband. I purchased two of these headbands; one for my wife, and one for me. They were to replace a couple of $20 headband earphones. Honestly, the $20 ones — although they didn’t last long due to a battery issue — were a far better design and far better value. We have used these new headband earphones for less than a week and want to throw these in the trash. ... show more

    • Quality Has Dropped Significantly Over the Years

Buyer beware -- this review is for fans of the SleepPhones that may find themselves here in need of a replacement. I bought my first pair of SleepPhones back in 2019. They lasted about three years, and worked great. Sure, they were a little overpriced, but they were much better quality than the other sleepband-style headphones on the market. (I've tried others -- the issue with the knockoffs were the speakers weren't as thin, so they'd dig into your ears if you're a side sleeper.) I bought a second pair in 2022 -- those worked for about two years before they kicked the bucket, but were still comfortable. My third pair, ordered in April 2024, was obviously inferior quality -- the speakers have gotten less thin, so they dug into my ears unlike my 2019 and 2022 models. I still had my broken 2022 pair to compare, and it was clear the speakers had changed. This is really disappointing, and I'm back to searching for a replacement. I just received a pair of Anker Soundcore Sleep A20s from Kickstarter, so I'm hoping those'll work better. ... show more
