This mattress is the real deal. I just threw away a $2000 latex mattress I bought after a ton of research when it started smelling and pulled the trigger on this 14" elite on a whim. I like to sleep on a firm mattress, think air mattress filled up almost entirely. I was very skeptical buying an Amazon mattress that's a fraction of big brand prices without seeing it first, but my initial impression after 3 nights is that I'm incredibly impressed. First, while unboxing, it springs out quickly and begins inflating. There was an extremely mild chemical smell that disappeared within hours, and the mattress subsequently has had no smell. As somebody who's very fragrance sensitive, this was a big win immediately. I gave it 36 hours to rise before use. It is extremely firm in the best way - edge support is as good as any mattress I've tried, feels like I'm sitting on a wooden chair. The mattress itself while on my back or side gives great support with almost no give. It's almost too firm, but I imagine it'll break in over the course of a few weeks. I'm 5'10 180lb with a good amount of muscle and a sore back so anything with sink causes me pain, while this matress does not. It is also extremely cool, which is somehow magic to me. Memory foam is usually pretty bad at keeping cool and I sleep very hot, but I have had an issue with staying cool on this mattress even with a thick comforter which has usually not been the case. Overall I am extremely impressed so far. The 365 day trial also instills a lot of confidence in the purchase. I'll update this review a year later to see how the mattress has held up but for the price I wouldn't even mind if I had to buy one every few years ... show more

My husband and I have been sleeping on an all foam mattress the past 10 years. It was ok, but I started having many episodes of back pain this year. I was advised to get a firmer mattress. I found this one on Amazon and was skeptical to get it due to how affordable it is and it having springs but arrives rolled up. It arrived a day earlier than promised, but we waited to unroll it until Friday morning since we weren’t sure if we could sleep on it same day. It says it needs up to 72 hours to fully expand. This mattress was a heavy beast. With my back issues, hubby had to do the majority of the work. I was disappointed that when it was unrolled, the sleeping side was facing the floor, and the top/bottom were on the sides. We had to flip and rotate this large (king), heavy mattress. But that was the worst of the experience. We unrolled it at 5 am, and by the time we went to bed around 8:30, it seemed to be expanded enough so we decided to sleep on it. WOW! Best night’s sleep in a long time! Even better the second night! It was firmer than our foam mattress ended up before we got rid of it. But it was still soft enough that you don’t feel like you’re sleeping on a hard board. It has the right amount of support. I’m normally a side sleeper, but I have been sleeping a lot more on my back too because it has such good support! Any way I sleep, this has been comfortable and supportive. I love how tall the mattress is, and it seems to be made out of good materials. Obviously I can’t speak to the durability, and we’ll see how well the springs hold up, but so far I am so happy with this purchase. If you’ve been having back pain and/or need a new mattress, I highly recommend this one. My back pain has significantly improved to where I hardly have any after 2 nights on this mattress. I sleep like a baby. It fits my bed fairly well. I have built in drawers under my bed so my bed is a little larger than normal, but it fits the king frame well. It is a wonderful value. Alot of bang for your buck. As I said, I sleep like a baby. The bed is super supportive of my old joints. I must say my back feels better just because I sleep more comfortably. The set up was easy. I was redecorating my room, so I was sleeping in a different room, so I gave the mattress 3 days to inflate to its normal size. If I am not mistaken, the packaging said 24 hours. Either way it was inflated and ready by the 24 hour mark. It comes shrink wrapped in this box. I worried it was gonna throw me into a wall when I opened it. IT DID NOT. JUST FOLLOW THE OPENING INSTRUCTIONS. I was cowering away like I was trying to open a can of biscuits. As for the cooling, I don't really notice it.     • Good Mattress if you have Back Issues
We purchased both a queen and a king in this mattress and so far the experience has been very positive. From the first night it was clear that this mattress is truly extra firm and not just firm in name only. It offers a stable supportive feel that does not sink or sag which is exactly what we were looking for. We are both in our late forties and very active athletes so proper support is non negotiable. I have had back surgery and waking up without that stiff sore feeling is a big deal for me. So far my back has felt good in the mornings which tells me this mattress is doing what it is supposed to do. It keeps the spine aligned and provides consistent support across the entire surface. The 14 inch height gives it a substantial solid feel and it looks great on the bed frame. There is no motion issue when one of us moves and it feels very stable when getting in and out of bed. It is not plush or cushy and that may not be for everyone but if you need firm support this delivers. We did add a mattress topper that helped since we have lower platform beds. Height is certainly shorter than most. Size is right for both beds. Since it is still early I cannot speak to long term durability yet but based on how it is performing now we are very happy with the purchase. For anyone who needs extra firm support especially if you have back issues or live an active lifestyle this mattress has been working out well for us. ... show more

    • Minimal Support- Buyer Beware (Good Luck on Returning)

DO NOT get this mattress if you sleep with a partner and expect any sort of motion isolation or edge support. Both my husband and myself are not petite people- but we are also not overly large people. The mattress was supposed to be a simple replacement for a no longer available gel hybrid from a different brand. Pros: -Came quickly -Priced great with discount -Reviews very promising -Alleged 365 day trial Cons: -Edge support is non existant -Mattress sinks >2 inches when my approx 230lb husband is in bed. While I love him, being sucked into his apparent gravitational pull while sleeping on this "motion isolation" mattress is not comfortable and the opposite of dissipating the heat he produces as a human furnace. -No odor -Buyer beware, while they are responsive and don't outright refuse their 365 day trial- they will "courteously" try everything they can to avoid a return. This mattress is completely unusable with how poor the support is with the two of us. At first I was offered a 20% refund and suggestion of purchasing a topper to make this magically work. After several days and feeling like pulling teeth my husband was frustrated enough he decided to just accept the eventual best offer- 50% refund to keep the mattress. Otherwise we were supposed to find a way to get this king sized mattress somehow in plastic to be able to arrange a pickup?? I now have a brand new king mattress shoved in my basement that I cannot use. I know no one in my new town to "gift" it to (the seller's suggestion).     • Don't Second Guess, Buy It!
This is my first hybrid mattress; I usually buy the traditional types. Thought I would try one based on a friend’s recommendation. I am 100% sold on this mattress, I love it after the first night. I decided on the medium/firm 14”, and it was the perfect choice for my sleep needs (I suffer from back issues herniated disk). The pillow top is lovely and soft. And I have noticed after two nights of sleeping on it, I have been sleeping through the night whereas usually I wake up a few times a night hot or uncomfortable. Unpacking the mattress is a 2-person job as it weighs over 100 lbs. for the King size. Be careful when you open the plastic not to cut the mattress. Cut away from the mattress, expect it to expand rapidly and be sure you have an area that’s open, so it has room. There was no weird smell, and I only waited 8 hours before sleeping on it. My only complaint was the box was damaged during shipping, and half the product was exposed. Luckily since it is plastic there was no damage to the mattress. It was delivered from CA to FL in 6 days, so the shipping was fast. I think it’s a great budget friendly alternative to a traditional mattress. Overall, I would recommend this! ... show more
