We purchased both a queen and a king in this mattress and so far the experience has been very positive. From the first night it was clear that this mattress is truly extra firm and not just firm in name only. It offers a stable supportive feel that does not sink or sag which is exactly what we were looking for. We are both in our late forties and very active athletes so proper support is non negotiable. I have had back surgery and waking up without that stiff sore feeling is a big deal for me. So far my back has felt good in the mornings which tells me this mattress is doing what it is supposed to do. It keeps the spine aligned and provides consistent support across the entire surface. The 14 inch height gives it a substantial solid feel and it looks great on the bed frame. There is no motion issue when one of us moves and it feels very stable when getting in and out of bed. It is not plush or cushy and that may not be for everyone but if you need firm support this delivers. We did add a mattress topper that helped since we have lower platform beds. Height is certainly shorter than most. Size is right for both beds. Since it is still early I cannot speak to long term durability yet but based on how it is performing now we are very happy with the purchase. For anyone who needs extra firm support especially if you have back issues or live an active lifestyle this mattress has been working out well for us.

I purchased two of these Sleepmax 14-inch hybrid mattresses, one for myself and one for my son. The difference in comfort and support was noticeable immediately. The mattress feels stable and structurally strong; my bed frame actually feels more solid since switching to this model. I have two hip replacements, so I rely heavily on proper orthopedic support to sleep without pain. This mattress performs exceptionally well in that area. The combination of memory foam and pocketed coils keeps my spine aligned, distributes weight evenly, and prevents sinking. I wake up with far less stiffness, and the firmness level strikes a great balance between comfort and real support. Delivery was surprisingly quick. It arrived sooner than expected. After cutting open its vacuum-sealed packaging the mattress decompression started immediately & reached full dimension within a few minutes. I slept on it the 1st night-no waiting 2-3 days as I’ve read that some other brands require. It is a firm (as I ordered) & very comfortable mattress. It has no scent. I’m no longer tossing & turning side to side throughout the night, & I’m getting a great night’s sleep. When I replace a bed in another room I will definitely buy another SleepMax.

I purchased this mattress as it stated extra firm, however it isn't as firm as my old mattress. This actually is a good thing as it provides good support while being very comfortable. It ships rolled up in a box, which i guess is good for delivery. Once unraveled the mattress is fine. Great value for the mattress. Would buy again!

We have been sleeping on this for a week. I bought this because of the good reviews, and I completely agree with them so far. This mattress is nice and firm. The memory foam is great. It reminds me of the infomercials where a woman would jump on the bed with a glass of wine standing at the other end. It was easy to unpackage, and like others said, there was no weird smell when we let the air out.

I'm so impressed by this mattress. Despite the good reviews, I was a bit nervous to order a cheaper mattress through Amazon and how that would reflect in its quality. This mattress has been amazing in both quality and support. The firmness is perfect and I've slept better than I have in years. It is heavy though - I'm a single woman who lives in a two-story walk-up apartment (no elevator). I bought the King size; it ships in a huge box and definitely requires a two-person lift if stairs are involved. My neighbors kindly brought it up to my apartment for me, but I was able to unbox it alone and get it onto the bed frame myself. The instructions recommend at least 3 days of letting the mattress "breathe"/fully inflate before adding any bedding. After 24 hours, the mattress already measured 13" (I bought the 14"), so I went ahead and added bedding and slept on it without any problems.
