I highly recommend this topper. Our mattress was too firm so we had added 4” topper from another company over a year ago. I don’t think I had a morning when I didn’t wake up with lower back pain but I never associated it with the other topper. Today was my first day of waking up pain free with out new 2” topper. I’m a stomach sleeper and my husband is a side sleeper (with hip pain) ans this worked great for both of us. Only problem is I ordered a full instead of a queen by mistake. Thought we could live with the full but it makes a difference and it needs to come to,the edges of the bed so will have to exchange it if we can get it back in the box 😳Nicely packaged in a very small box and no noticeable off gassing. I agonized over getting a foam topper for my mattress because the ones I had before made me hot and miserable, this one does not. I wouldnt say its cooling gel, but it doesnt make me miserable, or run hot, when I sleep on it. Make sure you unwrap it and let it sit out according to the instructions and you will have a perfect, very supportive mattress pad. There is no lingering smell! My right hip tends to come out of alignment and this mattress topper does the trick. Since I've gotten it I've not had as much hip pain and I've stopped sleeping on my shoulder weird. I do make sure to rotate it regularly, every other time I change my bedsheets I rotate the mattress pad. I've only had it for 2 months but I've not noticed any loss in thickness and support. This thing is comfy. I bought the 2 inch and let it fluff up for a few hours - it did have a somewhat smell but it was so light that after spraying it with fabric refresher and letting it air out I didnt smell it anymore. This is the perfect topper for the price and we put it on top of our regular mattress, then put the mattress protector (I read somewhere this is ideal) and then the fitted sheet. Perfection! Being a high mileage 66 year old with plenty of wear and tear from this or that disaster including motorcycle get-offs, roof slips, various falls and other self inflicted stupidity, my knees, shoulders neck, back, and other components are all subject to experience pain from time to time. For the last few years I have been sleeping on an adjustable base airbed made by Sleep Number. This is a pretty good bed and helped a lot when I first got it. Lately though even this bed is not getting it done. When I sleep on my side (which is pretty much all the time) I wake up with some pretty serious aches in my shoulder, neck and hips. Ever softer setting on the bed just led to a lack of support causing back pain. More support in a softer bed was needed. As an experiment, My wife suggested putting a big down comforter we don't use very often on top of the mattress to see if that helped. I went one better by folding it in half to double it's effective thickness and stuck it under the mattress pad just on my side of the split king bed. It helped a lot for about two nights until it became compressed in all the high pressure areas but it did work so the search for a lasting solution was on. I decided on memory foam rather than a natural material to avoid the "down compression" problem. Having a split king made a single pad not feasible unless I purchased two Twin XLs. Those were hard to find and pricey so I settled on this 3 inch king size gel foam product. Amazon shipped it with their usual efficiency and it arrived yesterday. Reviews on this product were generally favorable but some did mention smell and stain and size issues. I must have got the pick of the litter. This thing was perfect. I took it out of the box, laid it out on the bed and 2 hours later it was fully decompressed. No plastic smell and near exact size. I mean within 1/4 inch. It was actually a little thicker than 3 inches but not much. I took a tape measure and a straight edge, drew a line right down the center and slit it in half with a very sharp 10 inch kitchen knife. Easy Peasy. The pictures tell the rest. Gel foam on top of the mattress, mattress pad over that, sheets blankets etc. I just had the best night's sleep I can remember in a long time. I set the air mattress pressure at "75" for good support and let the foam do it's job. It worked well with the adjustable base also. No slipping or bunching or any other issues. No pressure points or soreness. I'm really happy. This is for now, the best hundred bucks I have spent in a long long time. Hopefully this thing lasts a couple years before I have to replace it. If it doesn't or I experience other issues I will edit this review but this morning I am a real fan. ... show more
