First, this is our 3rd Sleep Innovations mattress. They are typically great. Just not Arlo. I ignored the reviews that said it didn't expand thinking they just got a dud. Then our 10" Arlo mattress didn't expand - after 48 hours it was only 7 inches at the corners and lumpy/disfigured. The sides were less than 9 inches. You can't keep the bed made because the edges don't lay flat. We contacted the company (who again are great) and they sent out a replacement which was worse than the first. Also, the first mattress reeked like dank weed for weeks? Second mattress only had a faint new mattress smell. I recommend sleep innovations but would recommend you avoid the Arlo model. ... show more

It came nicely packed and upon unboxing it expanded quickly. We are using it since more than a week now now but still it does not feel firm. My previous zinus firm memory foam mattress was much better. Wish seller could take this back and refund the money. Rolling it back by hand is impossible and returning through Amazon is not an easy task. ... show more

Finally, a truly firm mattress. The mattress expanded to full size in less than eight hours. We have slept in it for a week and love it. We gave our medium firm Nectar mattress to our daughter as it wasn’t nearly as firm at more than twice the price. So far, we love it!

I've had a memory foam mattress for many years, that mattress was very soft and with time, I would sink into the mattress when sitting or sleeping. I wanted a firmer mattress to give better support. This mattress is a little on the firm side and at first I noticed the missing softness compared to my previous mattress. But sleeping and sitting on this for few weeks, I have started liking it more and more and appreciate the support it provides while being soft and comfortable enough. One thing is that all around on the sides of the mattress, about 1 inch from the top, there's a thick rope type string. While it doesn't come into play when sleeping, it does poke a bit on the sides and is easily visible even with a mattress protector or sheet on. It's probably a stitching thing for the top portion of the mattress to the bottom, however it would be nicer if it was less noticeable. ... show more
