My first flat iron was a Chi and it lasted ten years. It was amazing. I then tried a newer Chi and it was not close to the same quality as the original irons. It felt cheaply made, was uncomfortable to hold, and it snagged my hair even when the grip was loose. I then bought an Izutech brand flat iron, and it did an ok job, but the handle eventually broke apart and it began pinching my fingers when I used it, and the temperature control stopped working properly, so I had no sure way to tell how hot the temp was being applied to my hair. I was so overwhelmed as there are hundreds of brands and styles of flat irons now. After reading reviews for several hours, I decided to take a chance on this one, and I’m so glad I did. The rubberized grip is so comfortable when using, I left for the temperature buttons are, and it glass, so smooth way through my hair without breaking it off or snagging the ends. I love this because it is tourmaline infused titanium so it heats super fast, is adjustable heat and even heat distribution. My old iron broke so I had to research again the best for fine hair, and this one is great for all hair types.

Purchased as a portable straightener for travel, no issues on the size and quality of the product. Gets up to temp quickly and does not damage hair. Fairly expensive compared to similar models on the market but the quality is good. No complaints here.

Professional Titanium Hair Straightener: $139.95 at the time of review I'd like to start this review out by saying that I am not a hair straightener guy. Like my father and grandfather before me, I go to the barber and ask for the No. 2 clippers (for those not in the know, that's just passed finger length, not quite a buzz cut). My wife, on the other hand, has very fine and notoriously difficult to work with hair. So finding them a straightener for her is a difficult and crucial process. Most of this review is going to be from my wife's perspective, but one thing that I can't speak to myself is the packaging. The box for this thing is pretty nice (as one might expect for the $140 price tag). It would make a decent gift. Now onto the meat and potatoes of the review: performance. My wife noted immediately that the controls were located inside the straightener. She really liked that because it helped prevent accidental activation (or in her case deactivation, turning it off). She also really appreciated that it came to temperature pretty darn quickly. Her other hair straightener that she was using before this took a couple minutes longer to get up to a hot enough temp. Where the straightener started the folder is with regards to her very fine hair. It did work well to straighten it, but she had a little bit of trouble using it overall. Perhaps with thicker, more durable hair it works better. But despite the benefits that we’ve already listed, she said her previous straightener worked a little bit better for her specific hair type. All things considered, this is a pretty nice straightener. I think the price is a little on the high side, but my wife assured me that this is common for such a beauty tool. It's well-built, works well in most situations, and would probably make a pretty decent gift. But because it wasn't really good for my wife's fine, delicate hair, we're going to end up knocking a star off. So our final score is going to be four stars out of five. We probably wouldn't order this one over again specifically due to the concerns above. That shouldn't stop you though if you have normal to thick hair. ... show more
