GREAT value for price. Most of the other trumpeters in my section have coloured horns as well and it was my first year doing marching so I thought I'd fit in. Less than $200 for an intermediate trumpet?! It plays really well; a tad sharp, and not all notes are the same (and not just the sharp low D, low C#, mid A, and sharp mid D) but when you're playing as loud as you can in a parade it doesn't really matter that much. At first, the trumpet worked great. But within a month or two the valves began to get a buildup of some kind of brown tarnish or oxidization or something, and now the valves often get stuck even if I oil them aggressively. It's very frustrating. I've owned a number of trumpets and this was the only one to have this problem. But this was also the cheapest trumpet, so it might be worth it. ... show more

The instrument sounds good but when oiling and checking valves, I found that bottom threads on the center valve were damaged and could not remove the cap. When I finally removed it I could not get the cap back on.

My daughter really likes this trumpet. She is so proud of it! Her band teacher informed her it was a piece of junk and informed us we needed to look at getting a Bach or Yamaha. Well - they are a lot more money that this momma here has to spend! I think this one will do as well as the one we had borrowed from the music teacher that was not a Bach or Yamaha either. I would actually say a 4 1/2 the trumpet is really good, plays in tune (once you tune it). The first one I got had a press error, but they quickly got it replaced. Overall a good reliable trumpet/company
