This is a good beginner setup. I was excited to put this microphone on the table-mounted, spring-loaded scissor arm and try it out. The size and reach of the scissor arm is shorter than I have used professionally in a sound booth, but works fine attached to my home table-style desktop. I tried to simply plug the microphone into my Mac, but it doesn’t work. I bet that’s because it requires phantom power through the (3-pin) XLR connection to the “Live Sound Card” (audio mixer). I found that the ”Live Sound Card”, audio mixer box, does not immediately work. Instructions lead me to believe it must charge to four hours. There was no mention of the “rechargeable” battery type it has, but it did power up after charging for two hours. I am picky when it comes to audio levels. First, I believe the correct position of the microphone is vertical with the shiny mic condenser facing you. I noticed that there is only one mic level knob. That means, if you have 2 mics connected and one person speaks louder than the other, you will have to constantly adjust the mic level. In a professional setting, each microphone is connected to a separate audio input that has its own channel knob/slider, so you can set the starting level of each speaker’s voice. The included mic makes my voice sound more nasal compared to high-end professional broadcast studio mics, but they cost a lot more than this entire bundle. After I set the correct mic and record levels for my voice by connecting to the MIC1 input on the “Live Sound Card”, I noticed that the included sound effects were too loud and over driven. Therefore, I would not use the sound effects in a live broadcast. I would edit them in post. I also noticed that Echo only worked on while the Voice Changer was activated. When I selected Original, it would not add an echo to my normal voice. Some of the sound effects are perfect for animated/cartoon projects, but some of the button names do not make sense. I’m looking at you “Din” and “9277”. The voice changer options sound like cartoon character voices, which is useful. I connected “Live 1” (output) to my Mac Multiport’s Audio input. It recognized the unit on my Mac audio input settings. I launched GarageBand, set the microphone’s audio level on the “Live Sound Card” (aka mixer) and then set the mic audio level in GarageBand and did test recordings. With the mic and pop filter a few inches from my mouth, I had to turn both the Mic level and Record level up to the 3 o’clock position to get the correct level. The pop filter work as expected to get rid of plosive sounds from words that begin with the letter P. I also used the earphones, which were included. I connected the earphones to Earphone output on the “Live Sound Card” to monitor my voice and the sound effects. In the description it mentions “7 independent sounds control.” Yes, there are 7 knobs, but only one knob sets the mic audio level. There is one record level as well. I do like the creativity this entry level podcast bundle encourages and is priced right for an entry level podcasting system.

I bought this because I am in college, and this semester I had 3 classes that required a podcast as an assignment. I like the package, and I was able to understand how each of the components worked. This allowed me to replace them with higher quality items. The microphone is ok, but it is a single direction mic. It has one receiver that does not have solid pick up outside of the sound cone. Bottom line: This is good to get, so you can learn what you actually need. I still use the sound board, but the microphone is garbage compared to my airpods, so if you want something that doesn't just make you look like you podcast buy this and play with it to find out what you need.

Paquete llegó 3 días después de lo programado sin explicación ni contacto previo por parte del transportista, la cinta de seguridad de Amazon estaba rota y reparado con cinta adhesiva por el transportista PASAREX. Quien lo entregó no aceptó dejar observación escrita en el formulario de entrega. Producto en buen estado, pero no funcionó bien en primera prueba: no graba de continuo la voz ni registra los efectos aunque se escuchan mientras se generan, no funciona con la aplicación Zoom, el sonido que registra el micrófono es desagradable y con ruido de fondo. Las piezas que conectan el cable del micrófono con el micrófono son plásticas, aunque en las imágenes promocionales parecen metálicas. El filtro que incluye, no es realmente un filtro, sino un artefacto decorativo con tela común. Tiene buen aspecto pero aún debo realizar pruebas con otras aplicaciones para verificar que cumple con lo anunciado por el vendedor.
