I bought this for my son’s recording studio that he has setup in his bedroom. I cannot believe how awesome the sound quality is. His songs sounded amazing! I definitely recommend buying a pop filter to go with this because it will take your sound to another level. It worked perfectly with his interface and laptop. His recordings sound phenomenal. Mic is a game changer, needed a good quality recording set up for small spaces and traveling. Did a lot of research as I used to love my audio technica’s but was ready for a small Upgrade. I did a lot of comparing between tlm 102 vs tlm 103 and found the 102 to be the go to sound for my vocal range and price range. Even though the TLM 102 is considered by some as Neumann's "entry level" microphone, 800 dollars is still a lot of money. So it took me a long time to finally pull the trigger and purchase. Now my only regret is that I didn't do it sooner. I am truly impressed by the "tight" sound reproduction by this mic. In spite of the slight boost in some of the high frequencies there is nothing hyped or colored in the sound of this mic. From the other reviews I must have received a lemon. I used it once and hated the sound which was too heavy in the high end and too light on the low end for my taste. I put it back in its box and figured I had just learned an expensive lesson. I wasn’t going to return it because it wasn’t the companies fault that Indont like the sound. I should have found somewhere to try it out before ordering. Fast forward a year. I have a friend that is trying to start a studio of his own so I let him try all of my mics to see what he like the sound of best. This time the mic didn’t even function. Of course it’s way too late to return now, just wanted to warn others. If it doesn’t sound great right out of the box- return it because you may have gotten a lemon too. ... show more

As soon as it arrived I removed the foam filter inside the screen mesh without even plugging in the mic lol, but this mic is pure beauty for recording quality and just looking at it.
