I bought this for my husband to use as he can no longer use a chain saw but I seem to be using it more than him....I had never used outdoor power tools in.my life until recently when he became disabled and I really like this saw. I use it all the time. He can still use the riding mower so I use this to cut low lying limbs for him to be able to mow and also I use it to cut small trees around the farm..I love it. My only wish is thar I had extra batteries and chargers and it never stays charged as long as I want to work....I guess me working 5 to 6 hours at a time doesn't mean batteries want to....I would Def buy it again...good piece of equipment..lightweight enough for me to use. This is not what I am accustomed to seeing with a Skil label. Most often cheap, trash can fodder that might get you through one job, is the norm. This is not at all that. I bought this because I rolled the dice on a skil miter saw recently and could not be happier. It's a beast. This little recip is a real tool as well. Brushless, stout, a little heavy but I like that. Battery quick charge feature is really cool. But, there is a strangely long delay between trigger pull and movement of the blade. I haven't had a tool that did that in along time. I can live with it. If not for that, this would be the best for the money tool purchase I've made for quite a while. I work it hard daily with satisfactory results. Skil tools have become a real option for me and I wouldn't have dreamed so my whole life. Skil, fix the trigger. I'll buy 2 more ... show more

This is now one of my favorite tools. I bought it to remodel my kitchen and do some demo, taking out a coat closet and pantry. Cut through wood and nails. This thing is a rock star. Just realize this is a 12V, lightweight with a small battery. I have other Skil 12V family tools and batteries and so if the battery was depleted I just swapped it out for a new one.
