  • OK for the price, but quite thin, and in my view, the roll had too many zigzagg splices
Size: 3/4" x 50' Style: Walnut
I needed this for a miniature project that required me to remove the glue and use small pieces of the wood veneer. I use veneer "edging" rolls because so far, I'm working in such a very small size/scale that buying a large sheet of veneer would be many times more than I could use, and that's just wasteful (as well as needlessly expensive). Anyway, the splices were a significant annoyance in that process, because the roll has to be soaked for a day or so in Ethanol (I use denatured because it's cheaper than pure ethanol) and then the glue scraped off. I did not use this edge banding as intended, so I can't comment on how well the glue might or might not work; what I *can* say is that I found it to be very strange in that it didn't become at all flexible after soaking - it did become easier to remove from the paper backing between the glue strip and the veneer, but rather than coming up in a ribbon, it broke off, like peanut brittle, and took a *long* time to strip off. With other veneer, I used a single-edge razor blade to peel-off the soaked glue, but to strip this, I had to use a hobby knife and find the best angle to chip it off without snagging the veneer itself. I also found the veneer to be quite thin, which made it splinter fairly easily. I did finally succeed in removing all of the glue. The veneer broke apart at the splices, which I had to trim off because I can't use them. They seems to occur at around every 5' to 7'. All in all, I WAS able to make this work out for my use. ... show more

  • Easy to cut, and apply!
Size: 3/4" x 50' Style: Walnut
We needed a quick fix to a piece of furniture where a piece had popped off. The color matched pretty well and was really easy to iron it on. And it has stayed adhered to the wood!

  • Why would you use white glue with walnut?
Size: 3/4" x 50' Style: Walnut
Other than the white glue, and white glue line, the banding was great. Just a common sense question though, why use white glue with walnut? After this, I just started using walnut veneer with the usual dark veneer glue. Takes longer, but get much better results.

My partner and I run a vintage furniture shop and love using this walnut edge veneer. Great for mid-century modern pieces. It's super easy to use and adheres quickly to the wood surface. Will definitely be buying more!
