Used these speakers for the bass in my saddlebags on my Harley...they were supposed to be a right now fix after my Infinity Kappas literally vibrated to peices since they have a plastic basket instead of aluminum...these Skar speakers are a third of what I paid for the infinity 6x9's so I didn't expect much...well once installed the sound was very impressive...obviously the infinity are better quality and have brighter highs but, I think I used them in the wrong context...these Skar 6x9's have an aluminum basket and great bass response which is what I needed and the vocal aren't infinity's but, for the money and in comparison they are very nice...I should've got these to begin with but, I was hung up on brands...now just to see about the longevity and consistency of them but, it's been 2 weeks and I've rode 3 times and they beat!...not expecting too much but, considering I'm already winning if they blow in 6 months but, I honestly don't see that happening...great buy; if u ride cruisers and ur on a budget grab these for ur hard bags they sound pretty decent...got 3 guys looking to swap their pioneer 6x9's off just hearing my bike...grab um before they go up like all the other brands...even DS18 is getting more expensive because of the demand...great pair of speakers for under a "buck"...thank me later...✌🏿 ... show more

I bought these to replace my old JBL GTO coax that were starting to wear and distort. At the same time I decided to change out my pilar tweeters with Skar TW tweeters. At first, I thought they sounded boomy and lacked that fine detail and crispness I had from my JBLs. I was regreting my purchase and just was disappointed with the overall sound. I've had them installed for about 2 weeks now and man have I fallen in love with them. It seems as if they're finally breaking in and the clarity and precision have made a presence. I'm noticing slight nuances and detail in music that my JBLs weren't picking up on. Solid mid frequencies that I didn't have before are now present. And the tweeters are an audiophile's dream. These things pick up vocals and hi hats like butter. Definitely quality equipment, just give them a chance to settle in. I find myself looking forward to my next drive just to hear the beauty in audio these speakers bring out. I'm super picky with my SQ, and have now decided to add Skar's 7 band eq to my setup just to clear out my signal and fine tune everything up a bit. Let's see how that goes. If you're looking for killer sound, clear vocals and good highs and lows then you're in the right spot. These were replacements for my father in laws mute Ram 4500 pick up truck. I couldn't bare to listen to the drowned out oem speakers anymore. These did the trick, make sure to get the harness adapter cable and bracket if you're installing these. ... show more

Just going by the price alone I wasn't honestly expecting to much from these speakers. I bought them to replace the factory speakers in my truck. No mounting brackets are included but it didn't say they were either. After 3d printing some brackets installation was simple. And they actually sound 1000 times better than expected. Right now this truck has the stock radio and just a single pair of these 6x9s. While you are not hearing me a block away these things are still vibrating my mirrors although just slightly. Plan is to change the head unit, add another pair of these, and install my amp and subs. Once its done it will most likely be my cheapest system I've done but it definitely won't sound like it is. ... show more

I own a 2006 Lincoln LS, with the factory THX/Nav system from Soundmark. The rear deck speaker's foam surrounds had deteriorated. (In this system, the rear deck 6x9's are woofers). Discontinued from Ford and Lincoln. I've been a fan of Skar for their amps and subwoofers, and bought these Skar 6x9's to use as my subwoofers. I couldn't be happier with them. Definitely enough bass to make my rear view mirror move, and I'm guessing they dip well below their 40hz spec. Blew my mind. I'll be scoring some Skar 6x8's for the four doors soon, hoping they'll be as impressive as these 6x9's have been. I don't expect them to have the crazy bass of the rear deck, but am hoping to get better clarity and midbass ... show more

I don’t know… honestly maybe I’m expecting more out of them but they don’t sound super great. They don’t sound bad. I’ve had them a couple weeks and fiddled with my settings. Mind you I have a stock system in a 2013 ram 1500. I had to use spacers and foam tape to get them to fit/seal properly. They are for a lack of better words muddy…? Probably would benefit from an amp obviously. But in my opinion they should sound better than the stock door speakers I’d say. Maybe they will break in and sound better with time. I’ll update if anything changes. As of now I’d pass on buying again. ... show more
