Used these speakers for the bass in my saddlebags on my Harley...they were supposed to be a right now fix after my Infinity Kappas literally vibrated to peices since they have a plastic basket instead of aluminum...these Skar speakers are a third of what I paid for the infinity 6x9's so I didn't expect much...well once installed the sound was very impressive...obviously the infinity are better quality and have brighter highs but, I think I used them in the wrong context...these Skar 6x9's have an aluminum basket and great bass response which is what I needed and the vocal aren't infinity's but, for the money and in comparison they are very nice...I should've got these to begin with but, I was hung up on brands...now just to see about the longevity and consistency of them but, it's been 2 weeks and I've rode 3 times and they beat!...not expecting too much but, considering I'm already winning if they blow in 6 months but, I honestly don't see that happening...great buy; if u ride cruisers and ur on a budget grab these for ur hard bags they sound pretty decent...got 3 guys looking to swap their pioneer 6x9's off just hearing my bike...grab um before they go up like all the other brands...even DS18 is getting more expensive because of the demand...great pair of speakers for under a "buck"...thank me later...✌🏿 ... show more

Took some modification to fit in the factory speaker housing, a hair bigger than stock but screw holes lined up in the rear deck. Probably overall 50-60% better than stock. Good bass, great sound quality

    • Great speakers, loud and punchy, but be careful with fitment. Update: 6/10 build quality.

These bump. Period. It feels like a little sub in the back with these. Great for the price, massive magnet compared to my kenwoods. The only thing to look out for is that they are wider than usual, the metal casing extends to the sides which can make mounting difficult. I had to use foam inserts to add enough space to the mounting hole. Update: the capacitor(?) on BOTH speakers has been vibrated to the point where the glue came unstuck, causing a very loud rattle. The tinsel lead on the left speaker came unsoldered, causing intermittent cut outs. I fixed both of these in 10 minutes with a soldering iron and a tube of super glue, but watch out for the build quality. The mounts have also come a little loose but they still hold. Overall, everything but the cone, leads, and frame has needed repair. Not a huge deal, but something to look out for. Update 2: The tweeter cone came loose and started making a rattling similar to when the capacitor came off. I just stuck a screwdriver through the sticker on the bottom and tightened it down. Another 5 minute repair, but dang it's unusual that I've had to repair these at all. ... show more
