Put these in the back doors of my Silverado with Bose system and they sound great. You can put the crossover down to 50 MHz and they put out great bass without distortion. Super easy to install too. Recommend.

For the price and size I'd say these are great speakers. I put them in an 03 Freightliner and for whatever reason 5.25" is the size they went with in that model which I feel are rather small, so don't expect these to be bass heavy. Pros: plug and play with no modifications needed to replace old speakers, fairly loud for the size, sound great, good price, durable speaker. Cons: not very bass heavy, though they are only 5.25" ... show more

Got the speakers just fine, packaged well. I did a series of bench tests with these, and wow the silk dome tweeters sound Fantastic!! Remember, these are rather budget friendly speakers, unlike Focal, Morel, etc, so I wasn't expecting sonic fidelity at the highest level. But Wow, for the money, I think they were around $65/pr, they sound Very Very good! My plan is//is to install them in my BMW 2001 e39 530i, however the driveline started acting up just when these speakers came to the door. So I've had to hold off on installing them until I have the driveline redone. This doesn't matter in terms of my sound evaluation though, as I do this with all of my audio gear. Anyways I went with these speakers as opposed to my usual Focal K2p picks because of the age of the car and its value. A nice set of Focals would be worth almost as much as the car itself LOL! But I wanted something budget that could compare to higher end speakers, and with these I feel I hit the jackpot! ... show more

    • DO NOT PUSH THEM PAST RMS

First and foremost if you buy any Skar speakers. DO NOT push them. Run them at the specified RMS. I have never blow any speakers. I do use them at high volumes all the time. But I don't push them past RMS I have heard other people complain about blowing them but again just don't push them past RMS. For reference I have 2 12 inch 2400 watt skar subs in my yukon. I also have these 5.25 and another pair of 6.5 inch. I am actually about to install a speaker amp here soon so I'll send an update once I do. Easy install They fit good in my car. The look fancy. But I keep them behind the plastic door panels so. They are loud and crisp running on my head unit currently. Would recommend 100% ... show more
