Description

The Skar Audio SKv2-1500.1D is a competition grade monoblock class D subwoofer amplifier that was designed to deliver unequivocal performance and power output. As a part of the flagship SKv2 series of amplifiers from Skar Audio, this model utilizes only the highest quality internal components and features advanced engineering enhancements that allow it to outperform anything else on the market in its power class. Whether you are competing in the SPL lanes, or looking for the absolute best amplifier to power your "daily driver" audio system, look no further - this is the amplifier for you. The SKv2-1500.1D is conservatively rated at 1,500 Watts RMS power, and at max power output can produce more than an astonishing 2,200 watts. In addition to its extreme performance capabilities, this amplifier features an advanced heatsink design that allows for maximum cooling, as well as 4-way protection circuitry, enabling the amplifier to operate efficiently at peak output levels for hours on end. Furthermore, you'll have full reign over your amplifier with the built-in user control panel, featuring variable adjustment tunings for gain level, subsonic filter, bass boost, low-pass filter, and phase control. Versatility is key, and so you have the ability with the SKv2-1500.1D to run them strapped if desired, which is unique to our SKv2 series of amplifiers. In addition to all the above features, it also has both RCA inputs and outputs so that you can easily daisy chain multiple amplifiers together, and utilizes massive 1/0-gauge power and ground input terminals which allow for maximum current flow and therefore higher power output. This amplifier comes with a remote subwoofer level control (bass knob) allowing the user to have full control over their bass from the front of the vehicle.

This amp really puts out power and I’m only running it a 2ohms which 950 watts and I have it pushing 2 -650 watts rms CT sounds 12 inch subs and they are slamming. Only thing I don’t like is the clipping light on the bass knob. Cuz it constantly blinks. And clipping can be caused by more than just distortion the head unit being to high can cause clipping or power drop but this amp is real good quality you can hear that real gritty solid bass sound ... show more

I just got the Skar SKv2-1,500.1D. I have had the RP 2000.1D for about 7-8 months and I just got this one this and it weighs almost three times as much as my RP2000.1D and the quality looks and feels way better, don't get me wrong I love my RP2000 but I think I'm going to buy another one of these so I can strap them together in my one car and put the RP2000 in the other. I will update after I've ran it for a couple months. If you're thinking between this (SKv2-1500.1D) and the RP2000 pay the extra money and get this, either way YOU WILL NOT be disappointed with SKAR AUDIO!!!! All of there amps are amazing they blow my Kicker ZX amp out the water and the RMS is always higher then what it says!!!!! Skar audio is very conservative with their ratings my RP2000 was supposed to be 2000 RMS and I'm pushing almost 2,268 RMS at 1 OHM starting voltage was 14v ending voltage was it 12.9V. I'm done telling you how great this thing is you can watch the videos on YouTube and see people actually Dyno testing these amps yes Shar does do their own dyno but there's plenty of people that dyno these amp that are not through Skar. I was skeptical of the videos before I got my RP amp but there's no question after I got it! I have bought Skar 12" subs and a couple amps and even earbuds "headphones" all are better than I was hoping for with only one exception and that is the earbuds do not buy the earbuds!!!!!!!! I didn’t think it would work that well since it was a lot cheaper than most on the market (like a 1/4 of the price of another one I was looking at). But let me tell ya, this thing is phenomenal I have it pushing 2- 12” alpine type r’s and with the voltage at 12 when the cars not running and at 14v this amp does amazing! Comes with the two sizes of hex wrenches but doesn’t come with a plastic screwdriver so you might get one of those so you don’t chance messing anything up by grounding out the amp when adjusting the knobs. I have it mounted on my back seat in the trunk and as it’s pushing the subs I tried to see if it gets hot and nothing, still cold to the touch, very well built. Oh also I have this on a 150 amp fuse and works fine, not sure why they would recommend a 160 amp, very uncommon and hard to find lol. I tried using the bass knob a bit and it doesn’t seem to change too much, I can change the bass level more from the factory head unit in the car. All in all great quality product. If you are looking for a great amp at a great price, make sure to get the sk quality from skar. ... show more

So far so good. Still breaking in my Skar 12’s to go with it. Have the amp way down and it thumps!!! Amp does not really get hot. Worth spending the extra money to get a competition grade amp. It has true power!

I have tried to wire this thing up to my speakers multiple times at 1 ohm or 2 or any way possible. The amp is getting power but not putting sound to my subs. I think something is wrong I might have to return for another one or something. Been trying for hours to get it to work. Update: a guy on YouTube helped me set it up properly but the manufacturer did nothing at all to help tried to contact them multiple ways, also the manual does not tell you very well how to set it up either they could do specifically the amp you got not all their amps crammed into 1 manual. But I do really like the amp it sounds great and the bass nob is a great touch it works really well if my gf rides with me she hates bass so I can easily turn it down. I would recommend this amp unless you are brand new to doing this bc it can be very difficult to figure it out. It was my first time by myself and it took a long time. ... show more

I’ll start by saying I’m impressed with quality and sound per dollar. I’ve spent the last 20 years running primarily Rockford Fosgate, and kicker amps and speakers, and skar will destroy both in the same price range by a mile. I’m replacing pioneer amps this time around and this is louder and sounds better than the similarly spec pioneer rated at 1800/1200rms @1ohm x 1. Very impressed with this brand and have a VFX 12 going in for this amp with another in the future. So far only negative to skar is the fanboy status in the squatted truck community. ... show more
