Description

Skar Audio engineered the RP-1200.1D Class D monoblock subwoofer amplifier to be dominant in both power and reliability compared to anything else on the market in its' class. Designing the most efficient, well built, high quality amplifiers is where we start here at Skar Audio, and that is exactly what is delivered in the RP-1200.1D. The RP-1200.1D is 1-ohm stable and utilizes a wide array premium internal components that make it extremely powerful and reliable - such as its high speed MOSFET power supply and advanced PCB board layout. Conservatively rated at 1,200 watts RMS power at a 1-ohm load, with the capabilities of reaching beyond 1,600 watts at max power output. This amplifier is by far one of the most popular and affordable mono-blocks we have ever released, and is great for powering a pair of 600 watt rms subwoofers or a single 1,200 watt rms subwoofer. Furthermore, the oversized 4-gauge power and ground terminals found on the amplifier allow for maximum current flow and therefore higher power output and more efficient operation. You'll have full reign over your amplifier with the built-in user control panel, featuring a bass EQ switch (0, +6, +12dB), and variable adjustment tunings for gain level, low-pass filter, and subsonic filter. In addition to all the above features, this model also features 4-way protection circuitry, which will give the user the peace of mind knowing they are protected against damage to the amplifier for various reasons - including electrical shortage, overheating, low voltage, and more. This amplifier comes with a remote subwoofer level control (bass knob) allowing the user to have full control over their bass from the front of the vehicle.

  • Great quality
Size: 1200 Watt Class D Monoblock
So far so good. A truly 1 ohm stable amp. Great customer service. Thru a previous experience not on Amazon. But with the company direct. And it wasn’t their fault. That’s on fed-ex. Quality amp at a great price. From someone who has been into car audio for 36+ years.

  • Insane bass for the money, easily pumps a pair of 12s
Size: 1500 Watt Class D Monoblock
I’m running the Skar Audio RP-1500.1D on two Pioneer TS-A3000LS4 12" subs (4Ω SVC, 400W nominal each). Wired in parallel for a 2Ω load, this amp is rated 930W RMS @ 2Ω, which is basically perfect for this setup, and it absolutely slams. What I like: Hits HARD, stays clean: Bass is tight and punchy, with way more output than I expected from a “budget” mono amp. Easy to dial in: The onboard controls (gain/LPF/subsonic) make it simple to get the subs blended without sounding boomy. Remote bass knob included: Super convenient to tame it for everyday driving, then crank it when you want to show off. Solid build / practical features: 4-gauge power/ground terminals and protection circuitry give peace of mind once everything’s installed properly. Fits nicely in a tight space! Worth noting: Like any real sub amp, it rewards a solid electrical setup (good power/ground, clean signal, proper tuning). Once it’s set correctly, it just goes. If you want strong, chest-thumping bass without spending crazy money, this thing delivers. My two TS-A3000LS4s kick HARD on this amp and it’s been a great match. ... show more

  • Skar Audio RP-1200.1D Review: Bringing My System to Life
Size: 1200 Watt Class D Monoblock
I recently upgraded my car audio setup with the Skar Audio RP-1200.1D Monoblock Class D MOSFET Amplifier, and let me tell you—this amp is a game changer. I paired it with two Sony Xplod 1200W subwoofers that have been in my family for years, and somehow, in 2025, they’re still hitting like they just came out of the box. This amp truly unlocked their full potential, delivering clean, hard-hitting bass that shakes the trunk in the best way possible. The RP-1200.1D doesn’t just claim power—it delivers it. From deep, rumbling lows to tight, punchy kicks, the output is consistently powerful and distortion-free, even when pushed hard. And for the price? It’s an absolute steal. You’re getting serious wattage and reliability without breaking the bank. Beyond just bass, I also have two JBL Concert Series speakers in my front doors, and the clarity is breathtaking. Whether it's crisp highs, smooth mids, or deep lows, my system now has a perfect balance between power and precision. The combination of Skar’s raw power and JBL’s crystal-clear detail has completely transformed my listening experience. If you’re looking for an amp that delivers serious power without draining your wallet, the Skar Audio RP-1200.1D is an easy recommendation. It’s proof that you don’t need to spend a fortune to get rich, room-filling sound that makes every drive an experience. ... show more

  • Hassle *update
Size: 2000 Watt Class D Monoblock
Originally I bought this amplifier in January, I did not put it in my car until middle of February. I hooked it up to one DDX 10" 2ohm speaker and had it running with all the setting turned down. It played fine. I had the settings down in order to not blow my speaker that is rated at 1k watts. About two week later I bought 2 DDX 10 inch woofers for the amp. I ran them at 1ohm on one channel, and they sounded incredible. After breaking in my new speakers I slowly started turning the amp up. A couple days go by and I crank it maybe 80% up and after 10 min of playing the amp goes into protection. The amp was warm but not hot. I figured maybe it overheated. It never turned back on so I contacted Skar. They told me to send the amp back so they could test it for a defect, so I did. They tested my amp and deemed it a factory defect. They said they would send me a new one in 3-5 days. So a couple days go by and I call them back to find out what to update was on my replacement. I was informed that they're out of stock and they're shipment of new amps isn't coming in for 10-15 days. Another 14 days go by and I call them up to see if they received the new amps yet, they told me that they did and they would ship mine out the next day. So finally on day 15 they send out my "new" amp and I get it in the mail shortly after. Today I opened up my "new" replacement amp to find what looks like a refurbished used amp (not even my old one) This amp is dinged up with scratches and just normal wear and tear. I hooked it up and it's working fine as of right now but I have only played it for about 5 minutes as it's late at night. I guess we'll see if this one at least works for the time being but I'm not super happy with this service. Not to mention I was denied a refund for $15 for shipping the amp back to them that they told me was a factory defect. This is the first time I've bought a Skar amp and I'm not too pleased, I loved their speakers and have had many of them but I think now it's time for me to find a new brand to avoid this hassle in the future *update* I've beat the hell out of the refurbished amp and its still holding up. It does go into protection at 100% gain but that might be because I need some tuning. For now it works very well at about 90% gain. It does get very hot when running for a long time so maybe I'll install a electric fan somewhere. Would rate 3.5 stars if I could just because of the pain it was to get. ... show more
