Major Improvement Over D009 Unit

I am a returning SJoyBring customer, having previously purchased and DIY installed a JOY-D009 unit in my 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan 5 years ago. I really liked that unit. Unfortunately, Google changed Android Auto security policy so that I could no longer use Auto with that unit, so the OEM was kind enough to send me this as an upgrade in exchange for an honest review. This review is 100% my own opinion, and the OEM had no input into what I say here. I love this new unit! It solves many of the issues I had with the D009. The new QLED screen is easy to see in harsh daylight. No more holding my hand above the screen to block the sun so that I can read the display. Wireless Android Auto and Carplay are built in now, so no need to spend $30 on a USB dongle anymore. I was able to connect my phone in about 30 seconds the first time I started up the unit. Very easy. Installation: Installation is quite easy, and the manual for the unit has clearly labelled wiring diagrams. Just make sure you get the right wiring adapter harness and mount for your particular vehicle. Luckily for me, the power and speaker plug harnesses were identical to D009. The only re-wiring I had to do was for the steering wheel control harness, since the connector was changed to 8 pin from 6 (still same 6 wires, except front camera no longer needs separate power splice). Use: The unit is quite easy to operate, with a responsive touch screen and the addition of the volume knob, which is much easier to use than the capacitive buttons on the D009. the menus are intuitive to navigate, and the Android Auto experience is fully-featured and fast. There can be a very slight lag when switching between applications, but it feels fine to me and never bothers me. Overall, I can highly recommend this unit if you are a DIYer looking to upgrade your old or stock stereo head unit with something that features a QLED screen and Auto/Carplay wireless built in.

Installed this unit recently on my 99’ Honda Civic, and I'm really impressed with the performance for the price. • Installation: Fits nicely into the dash cutout and gives the interior a fresh and updated look for such an old car. • Display: The QLED screen is sharp, bright, and easy to read even in daylight. Touch response is fast. • CarPlay / Android Auto: Connects easily and runs navigation maps and music seamlessly without lag. • Backup Camera: Switching into reverse brings up a clear feed with helpful guidelines that you can turn on or off. • Audio: Radio reception and Bluetooth audio playback are clear with solid sound quality. Overall, it's a huge upgrade over my old stereo if you're looking to add modern smart features and a backup camera to your car. Highly recommend!

Great sound but connectivity issue

I bought this stereo to install in my 2007 Charger. I had to make a small adjustment to the dash to get it to fit, but that was a car issue, not a radio issue. I had some trouble getting the dash cam to work and sent a message to support about it. They responded with a couple suggestions and sent a link to update the firmware (new logos). Installed the update and the included logos I requested are much better. I was able to track down the dash cam issue and it is working great now, as is the stereo. I have an amp and the sound is great! Installation was moderately difficult and if you don't have experience doing this, I would recommend a professional installation. i have installed stereos in many vehicles and it still took me a day and a half to install it (stereo, cameras, amp, new speakers, steering wheel controls and microphone). One issue I have with the stereo is the bluetooth connectivity. I paired it with my phone and it comes on automatically if I return to the car the same day. If I come out the next day it won't connect and I have to clear the device from my bluetooth list and the pair it all over again. Kind of an inconvenience. Also, if my wife uses the car after I have paired it with my phone it won't find or connect to hers without first disconnecting the bluetooth on my phone (forget device). Support says there is no workaround and it can only remember one device at a time. My other bluetooth stereos (Alpine) can remember 2 devices. Finally, the stereo comes with an installation manual, but no manual for the functionality and it takes some time to figure out the menus and find the options I want to adjust. I have looked online and asked support, but there isn't a manual I could find anywhere. I'm sure it will become easier as I become familiar with it, but it would be nice to know all the things it can do without doing the search and fail method. Still trying to figure out the device mirror and the phone functions. If the connectivity problem I have doesn't bother you, it is well worth the money.

I bought this radio for my 2002 vehicle and honestly didn’t expect much for the price, but it has been great. I’ve been using it since I bought it and it’s still working perfectly, so I decided to buy another one for my other car. You get a lot for the money — backup camera, front/dash camera input, USB, USB-C, and pretty much everything I need. The main reason I’m giving it 5 stars is the customer service. I contacted them with a question and they were very helpful and easy to deal with. For the price, it’s a really good value. It works well, has plenty of features, and the support has been great. I’d buy it again.

Slim and Sleak upgrade

This unit is so thin and light weight but has all the features you would want in a modern car stereo. We installed this in my daughter's 2004 Jaguar X Type and it looks SUPER CLEAN. The car play and bluetooth were super easy to set up and the cameras were fairly easy to run. Speaking of cameras they are Much clearer than we expected. All around a great head unit for any vehicle needing a modern upgrade

Doesn't work

I paid for professional installation and the front left channel doesn't work at all and after 2 weeks now it started cutting out no matter what input it was on to not putting out sound at all 😕. Now I have to spend more money to get the shop to figure out what's wrong with it,if they can even fix it. Very disappointed 😡

Best head unit. I have personally installed maybe 20 head units from el cheapo to mega expensive in my own cars. The sound quality is excellent. The ease of use is exceptional. Features are great. Be patient with setup, once it is set to your liking it is automatic. Much easier than the setup in my newer Volvo and just as good. For the price, it is unbeatable.
