Real water proof material in snow and water and did great at yosemite with snow and slush. Yet to take it through a storm but worked great when rolling in the snow, snow ball fights, slipping and falling in snow etc. will ipdate the review after my oregon hike! It's Sitka Gear what can I say other than it's the best. It fits like it's supposed to. the water repelling ability is awesome. It cuts wind very will. I use this cover any time it's raining.
