  • Fits true to size
Size: X-Large Color: Buckskin
Feels great

  • Very good quality, comfortable, and sizing that fits as one would expect.
Size: X-Large Color: Iron Grey
I ordered the SITKA Gear Men's Alpha Fleece Vest in Extra Large (XL). I am currently 6 ft 2 in tall and 230 lb with a 44 inch chest. I used the Amazon recommendation that said, "XL will fit you best based on your profile". Based on the size chart on the product page a large was the recommended fit. I decided to go with the Amazon recommendation because I generally wear a extra large in polo shirts and other similar pullover tops. I decided I would rather have it a little bit loose than a little bit too tight. The XL that I ordered fits comfortably with a little room to spare all the way around even when I'm wearing one layer underneath. So, if I'm wearing two layers it will fit with just a mild amount of snugness. I think a large would also fit comfortably when wearing a single layer underneath. There is a good amount of stretch in every direction in the fabric so even if you get a snug size the stretch in the fabric will still allow it to feel comfortable, I think. I am happy with the size that I got. It's not too loose and not too snug and there's room for two layers of tops underneath. As a vest, it provides good warmth on the chest. This is a well made and comfortable vest. The tag says that it was made in Vietnam. All of the stitching is well done. The zipper is of ample size and Zips smoothly. There are three pockets with one on each side for your hands and then one on the inside for hidden storage. All of the pockets are zippered with good quality zippers. The interior chest pocket is large enough to hold my Samsung Galaxy s22 Ultra cell phone with a OtterBox Defender case on it. So, it is a good size chest pocket. This vest has mild water repellent capability but is unlikely to stand up in rain for more than a couple of minutes. Obviously, this is a very good quality brand but you may be able to find a better value for the money in other brands but I haven't checked. This is my first Sitka brand clothing. The laundry instructions say to cold wash and to cool tumble dry. ... show more

  • A solid layer, with more function than form.
Size: X-Large Color: Buckskin
I was looking for some lighter weight outdoor gear, and so I bought this vest. - Very good tailoring. - It might run a size Larger on some. - More length than any coat I own. Think of this a a hunting vest. It likes to have the neck zipped up (a bit roomy in the neck, but comfortable). It runs long (a full 3 inches longer than any other vest I own), so if you spend a bunch of time seated (like in a deer blind), then you will be covered well. It is a very good layer. First, the manufacturing on this one is top notch. All of the zipper pulls and pockets are very well done. They don't use metal, and so it won't make a bunch of noise when you use them in the field. The shell is water resistant, so you won't have to worry about light condensation. Note: I am 6'0" tall and weigh 190lbs. I have a longer torso (at least 1-2 inches) than most, and wider shoulders. I almost always order XXL or XL in all coats, vests, and such. After much thought I ordered an XL with this in the Buckskin color. There is a good deal of room inside this shell (at least enough for 2 or 3 layers). The shoulders are pretty wide and it is almost perfect there. The collar wants to curl, however I believe that it was mostly because of how it was folded from the factory. The collar is light weight, but very comfortable on the skin. Note: (see pics) It is a full 3 inches longer than any other vest I own. I wish I had ordered a Large (and I never order Large). That said, I will wash it and see how it performs after that. Long also means warm. My only comment is that you can be wearing a long flannel shirt outside your pants and it will cover that too. (see pic). Overall, I am very impressed with the build quality. I already have a tighter fitting Marm0t shell, so I will be looking for this to more of an outer later when I need flexibility and no sleeves (think Duck blind). We will see. I will update this once I put some miles on it. ... show more

  • Stretchy vest is well constructed and feels very comfortable
Size: X-Large Color: Iron Grey
This vest makes an excellent layering option in cold weather. The vest is tailored very true to size. I am 6'4" and 225 lbs. and got the XL. The fit is not snug but not loose - just right. I can wear it over a layer or two but anything more and it gets a bit tight. The tightness isn't a problem though because the material is pretty stretchy which makes it comfortable and good for active uses. The pockets are large and have plenty of room for gear or to warm your hands. This vest on its own as a jacket is good for cool weather but not really cold weather. It provides good wind/water repellency, but I would classify this vest as best for spring, fall, and early winter or as an excellent layer underneath something heavier. It is nice that the vest isn't very thick, so it isn't bulky or heavy, and it's easy to layer over in cold temperature situations. The vest looks good and seems to be very high quality. Zippers feel sturdy, and stitching seems perfect and heavy duty. I like the way this looks and feels. Seems to be cut a little longer on the back, which I like and even though I am on the taller side, it fits me well. I could have also gotten a XXL but I am sure it would have been much looser and not as warm. If I were wearing this over thick hoodies a lot or multiple layers, I would probably size up but otherwise order your regular size and you will be very happy. Feels very well-made and like a high-quality garment. ... show more
