So far so good. I purchased this lens because I really wanted a 85mm 1.4 but didn’t want to break the bank. Sirui really knocked it out the park with this lens. The image quality is great really sharp in the middle. Light weight and the focus speed isn’t that bad. The only thing that I don’t like is that the aperture ring doesn’t lock. It doesn’t take much to accidentally change your aperture while shooting but that’s not a deal breaker. Overall it is a really good lens!

Great build quality, it metal barrel feels great, no flex or plastic texture. As a result the lens does weigh more than it's plastic competition but it's not uncomfortably heavy. I find the focus is fast for portraits and stills. Slight (you have to pixel peep to notice) chromatic aberration but is easily corrected in post. The aperture ring is a light light on the detent, can move it accidentally when changing lens or if you hold that far back on the lens. The images, what really matters, are amazing. I had a friend tell me once you use a F1.4 or F1.2 lens you will look at photos in a new way. And he was right. The images are sharp, the bokeh is exactly how you'd imagine f1.4 can give you.

I love that it’s light weight. Amazing lens for the price but it’s definitely not tac sharp. For most portrait work, it’s “sharp enough” but if you print large or do full body shots then this can leave you wanting more detail

My first Sirui lens and I am impressed! I’m a hobbyist photographer, nothing serious. With this lens I’ve gotten amazing wide open aperture shots for informal portraits with beautiful bokeh and also handheld a couple shots of the sky on a clear starry night. Very quick and accurate autofocus which easily tracks your subject’s eye. Build quality seems very solid.

My Sirui 85mm F1.4 just got in! No good pictures with it yet, just a quick snap of my cat in not-so-great light. I had a bit of delay getting it- first, it took some time to clear customs, then the shipper said I wasn't home on the first delivery attempt (I was). Nice little piece of kit. It came with a padded case and two 67mm filters (UV and black mist). Fit and finish seem fine, I'm not sure it needs to say "full frame" on it, but the clickable/smooth aperture ring is nice, and it works well. Big AFL button works well, some others had said it had an odd feel to it but mine doesn't. I have mine mapped to change focus area (wide, center, etc.). My other 85mm is the Sony 85mm F1.8- this lens certainly has a few more features, and it seems to be plenty sharp. It was (is?) on sale on Amazon for $499, I had some points from buying Christmas presents so it only cost me about $415. I have to say I'm pleased- and customer service has been great, they reached out to me to confirm my camera and mount before finalizing the order, they reached out again when the original delivery failed to see if they could help. If you are looking for a portrait lens that won't break the bank, I'd say go with this one- you won't be disappointed!

Lens is great, customer service is horrible. My lens was damaged by a child at a session 2 months after ordering and they took forever to respond, made excuses, and want me to send it in for a damage estimate. It’s a $400 lens.
