After having this installed in my daily driver for four months, I can give an honest long-term review. Purchased for $49 in November 2025. Installed in my daily-driver 1970 Volvo 145S. Out of the box, a couple things surprised me. First, this stereo is super light-weight, probably the same weight as my iPhone. Second, the provided user manual was detailed with great explanations regarding the wiring, features, etc. As a disclaimer, I've never replaced a radio before, but installing this was straightforward with the provided how-to manual. The unit has a lip around the edge that sits against the dashboard, so it does NOT sit flush in the dash. While this was no problem for me, it may be an annoyance for others. Now, getting to the information people actually care about... If you're like me, Apple CarPlay is a big deal, and I can now safely say that this stereo handles CarPlay flawlessly. Seriously, it's incredibly good. In the entire four-month span of daily use, the radio has never failed to connect or drop connection. It has automatically connected and simply done its job every single time. Amazing! The volume knob works wonderfully, and pressing it for 3 seconds mutes audio. Below that is a USB charger and aux port. If you have as song blasting and turn the car off, the audio level will reset to a reasonable level on the next startup. Some people may find that obnoxious, but I think it's a thoughtful feature. However, the audio level for CarPlay is much, much lower than the AM/FM radio. So if you switch to the radio from CarPlay, expect to get startled by the loud audio. Other reviewers have mentioned it, I think it's just an "it is what it is" thing with this unit. The screen is a matte texture that has so far been resistant to fingerprints, excellent. It isn't super bright, but with the matte texture, glare and smudges haven't been a problem. The only time I struggle to see the screen is when the sun is shining directly on it AND I have sunglasses on. It's otherwise fine, I wouldn't worry about it. Oh, and the unit has dark mode! No blinding white lights at night, cool! Some people complain that the screen has a little lag, which it does. Given the price point, I'm not surprised, and frankly don't care. With single taps, the screen does fine. But if you're doing quick taps and swipes, it takes a moment to catch up. If you're patient and go at the stereo's pace, everything's great. The unit's background wallpaper can be changed to something different in the pre-loaded gallery. I'll report back if I find a way to upload my own image, but no luck so far. Some people have also complained that the audio quality is a little lower than expensive units or the OEM unit. I feel like this is an obvious thing to expect for this price range, though I personally couldn't tell any difference. Granted, my car is 56 years old, so it's never really had "premium" audio to begin with. While this kit does come with an external microphone, there's actually a built-in microphone to the stereo itself that's been adequate for asking Siri to send messages, skip songs, etc. Because of that, I haven't bothered installing the provided external microphone. If you're someone who takes a lot of phone calls, the microphone would benefit you, but know that it's not needed for simple Siri commands. The kit did come with a back-up camera, but I haven't installed it since my car's a fish bowl with great visibility anyway. Another reviewer put one of these in their Porsche 944, and provided instructions for replacing the startup logo with your own image. Having an old Volvo, I chose a Volvo logo. Thanks Craig L for the write-up! In conclusion, this stereo is extremely impressive for the price. It works great, looks great, and is a bargain. If mine ever dies, I'll just buy this again. But with how well its been doing for four months, I'm not worried.

This head unit is definitely the best choice if you’re looking for an affordable but reliable radio With Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, back up camera & microphone. The output powers amazing it hits harder than my last head unit. The touch screens great and easy to use brightness is good as long as it just turned up. Bluetooth capabilities are great just lags a little bit. I’m a slick black color is perfect for my. Radio Dash harness couldn’t have asked for a better unit.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I loved the radio for the price. but it literally lasted 20 mins of play time before it fried. all the wires were hooked up right but radio just up and quit all together. I highly recommend NOT buying this radio

Pretty good. Don't expect high end audio but not bad. Has a good night dimming which I really like. The screen could be brighter, I have this in a roadster so it's probably fine in a hardtop. Connects fairly quickly and Android Auto works as it should. I rear mounted in a custom panel for a cleaner look. The frame fits a double din opening but the actual radio front is about a 1/4" larger all the way around. It also protrudes from the dash about 3/8". It's only a few inches deep so great for limited space behind the dash. Can't complain. Looks and works well enough, will use this in other space limited builds.

It's cool but has stuff I cant stand like automatically hooking up to my phone and right away starting my music and maps whyyyy its so annoying I turned off android auto now I cant play my music because auxiliar gave out it seems im really thinking about returning it

Only just installed but this thing is sweet had a regular Sony radio before and this sounds muchhh better with the same speakers screen seems very bright. Put it in my Harley was worried because I have a weather cover that it sits in and I saw it’s slightly wider than a regular single din worked out perfect for me because my old one rattled around from not being snug enough. It has an individual harness for speakers and power. No big deal though. If you’ve ever installed a head unit it’ll be quick. Great value for the product CarPlay connects faster than my car.
