My old 30 + Singer was ready to die, decided to get a new one and was doing research before I bought this S5200 Computize machine. There was a card in the box on how to thread and machine with the bobbin and top thread, could not understand it to well. Went to U-Tube and found a couple videos, thank goodness. Found several that were really helpful as this is the first machine I ever had that the bobbin is on the bottom, normally they were always on the top and could load and see when I was running low. Other than no instructions and learning how to thread the bobbin, I have been using it for 2 weeks and loving it so far. I have 5 top baby/lap quilts completed and now have to put the batting and back on and then they are really complete. ... show more

Over the years I hav purchased several singer sewing machines. Each and every one performs exceptionally.when you purchased a Singer sewing machine you were purchasing a first class quality sewing machine. I don’t know what has happened with Singer but machine is junk. From the first day i opened the machine it hammed. I was not able to make 2 stiches when it started making a horrible noise and jammed. I tried several times with the same result. I called their customer service support, they were no help. The user manual did not come with the machine. It said If you want a manual you can go to the Singer website and down load a manual. I tryed that but without any luck. I ended up going to eBay and purchased a manual $15.00. I should have saved my money because the machine still makes a horrible noise and jammed. The manual was no help. I ended up pulling out my 30 year old Singer sewing machine to make my niece’s prom dress. singer should be ashamed for selling such junk. I’m not sure if I will ever purchase another Singer sewing machine. I tried not to give any stars. But I can’t submit this review without giving it a star, so I’m forced to give it one star, reluctantly. ... show more

    • A common sewing machine problem is bobbin timing.
I purchased a C5200 I have been using my smaller M3300 now because I have broken so many needles, jammed so many threads down the bobbin case and and broken a bunch of needles and retreaded without the needle threader because it does not work either, had to pull out the whole bobbin holder to unjam it that I gave up for awhile…plan to go back and take the plate off and try resetting the bobbin timing, that is what went wrong on my singer M3300 and I was able to get it going finally. So I like that it should do so many stitches and I like the machine, but will like it more when I get it running again. So folks if you are reading this go on YouTube and watch video a kind repair person has posted on resetting bobbin and that may stop the common problem with the breaking and jamming needles. I too have had a singer for over 50 years and never had the problems I have now. ... show more
