It’s a great machine with a variety of stitch types but if you aren’t going to be seeing heavy materials, I’d opt for a smoother and lighter machine. I love my new machine it has the power to sew through the heavy materials I sew. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is the foot of the machine does not come up very high at all. I thought I would be able to sew thicker material than it allows.

This is a pretty basic machine, but it does sew heavy duty material quite well. I was very pleased- finally able to mend and sew things that my other machine couldn't handle. Doesn't do fancy- but has all the basic features you need.
