FINALLY A CHEMICALLY CLEAN AUTOMATIC COFFEE MAKER! I have shopped for years for an automatic glass/food grade stainless steel coffee maker and Simply Good Coffee came through. As far as I know, this is the ONLY company that has met the public demand for a clean coffee maker. All parts that touch the water and coffee are either food grade glass or high quality food grade stainless steel!!! All other coffee and espresso machine manufacturers use plastics along with cheaper grades of stainless. You may not want to publicly admit it but deep down inside you know the damage daily high heat does to plastic. Even the flavor of our coffee is affected, but worse the daily caustic toxins injested. I just can't do that to my and my families bodies. No wonder so many suffer health problems! We have been using the pour method over a glass double wall insulated Bodium carafe with a food grade stainless steel filter. The Simply Good Coffee brewer makes much better coffee than my prior clean method. The hot water drips wide and slowly over the ground beans creating a wonderful frothy bloom in the grounds bringing out the deep smooth and sweet tones. The machine is quite simple, which I like. Fewer things to break later on. I did not spend the extra on the programable coffee machine. The base model quickly brews in like 5 or 6 minutes. No mess, no fuss. I waited for my Simply Good Coffee machine to come on sale...$80 off. Still it is much more than I have ever spent on an automatic coffee machine but now I know the process is as clean as my Bodium and french press methods, but much better tasting!!!! Give Simply Good Coffee a try! Through Amazon, they offer a free 30 day trial with free return shipping. I purchased Amazon's 4 year additional warrentee which provdes me some relief since I spent so much on the machine. We just received the SimplyGood coffee brewer. Did a water only run for clean up and followed with a one cup batch coffee brew. So here are our impressions: • unit came well packed with excellent protection • confirmed water path is all metal/glass including glass reservoir • the unit is much more streamlined and visually pleasing. • Design avoided a enclosed architecture. • Metal parts are easy to access for cleaning • brewing cone has a positive shut off lever * First brew was distinctly much better than old coffe maker In conclusion we are very satisfied with this purchase. I suppose in the future it might be cheaper as sales volume increases.

It was pricey and took a while to ship but it’s all I hoped it would be and I'm happy with the purchase. Well made, looks good on the counter and the coffee tastes great. We're really enjoying the coffee maker. I would have rated 5-stars if the water reservoir were removable. Features I like: -One-button start (non-programmable version) -Materials - high quality stainless or plated metal parts, glass carafe & water reservoir (although the glass is thinner than expected). Plastics seem high quality and are not in the water/coffee flow -Ability to EASILY dissasemble and clean the components to assure good tasting coffee. I have medium sized hands and can get my hand into the carafe for easy washing. Tips & Tricks: The mixing tube/carafe lid fits snugly on the carafe. When removing or installing the lid/mixing tube, the rear of the lid should be seated, then pry up or push down near the spout. This will keep the mixing tube from accidentally hitting the side of the carafe. Not as Expected: -the coffeemaker's website said the water reservoir is removable. It is not, as confirmed with their customer service. They will be changing the reference on their site.

Don’t buy the hype, yes it’s glass and stainless, no plastic. NO, it does not heat to 195 degrees, using my therma pen I’m only measuring 175 degrees, and that was after running 2 pots back to back. Definitely not worth the price tag. Unless you are into Luke warm coffee. Brew time with bloom is 5 minutes. Not bad, but definitely not Bunn quality.

Works great. Comes with 30 paper filters and will otherwise need more or require buying a stainless steel mesh filter, so my only preference with them making this for a leaching-avoiding audience is that they should have included a choice with purchase: permanent mesh filter or 200 paper filters. That would be a nice touch to make bundle sales like that in the future. My only other critique is a bigger one: The roof of the glass water container is plastic, and while the heated water comes up and out through steel tubing and thus the water never touches that plastic directly, it may cause that roof to heat enough and leach plastic into the steam droplets that touch that roof. The glass walls show trapped evaporate after making coffee, so surely some gets on the roof as well. I get that it both looks better and is cheaper to have black for that piece, but it undermines the concept, and the opening of it isn't even great plastic, as mine has an imperfection. The other plastic is purely casing and is fine, but this makes it feel less than 100% plastic-free. Still, this is the most plastic-free coffee maker available and they pulled it off and in a way it can survive shipping well without glass breaking. They deserve 5 stars for that still, because I finally feel like I can make coffee for my wife without causing her to drink little microplastics over time, and it's a genuinely good and good-looking machine as well.

Low marks for engineering. This thing has a very messy side and some engineering flaws that are hard to overlook at this price point. As it brews, it spits fine droplets of coffee that end up staining my white tile, grout, and anything else within range on the countertop. The design of the carafe lid also seems off. The drip hole doesn’t line up where the coffee actually falls, so the stream hits just beside the opening. This creates extra splatter and a constant tinging that is really annoying. We’ve ended up building a makeshift foil barrier around the device to protect the area. I don't love the look of it but also don't want my grout stained. For the price, I expected better engineering. Even so, the coffee is excellent. If they fix the splatter issue, it would be close to perfect. And I do appreciate the plastic free design. It’s reassuring to know my hot coffee isn’t running through mystery polymers.
