  • Superior cold brew maker
2d update: ignore both their instructions and mine. Too complicated. Here’s the revised simple system: Put the filter in the pot. Rest it on top of filter holder. Fill with water to first line in filter. Put 2 cups of ground coffee in filter. Pour in more water until coffee reaches near top of filter. Stir gently. Come back a little and stir some more until watery coffee level is near the top of filter. Leave room to stir without overflowing. I made it too complicated and so did they. Still, a superior system that makes a lot of brew without much cleanup. I do hand wash the filter occasionally. I also bought a very cheap 2 cup plastic measure that I don’t have to wash every time. Ezpz. Not brain surgery. Update: I’ve used it now several times. I’m still using regular ground store bought coffee without issue. I also got tired of weighing coffee. Using two cups of regular ground works fine for me. So basically here are my revised instructions: Add 5 cups of water to empty pot. Add 2 cups of ground (obviously) coffee to filter. Stir gently. Insert into pot. Add 2.5 cups of water on top. Try not to overflow filter. Stir gently. I use an old chopstick for poking and stirring. Top of coffee should look watery after awhile. Note: this leaves you a little room to add a small amount of water on top. Don’t overflow the filter. Do it anytime during the day and it will be ready early the next morning. Original: I’ve used several different cold brew makers over the years. The challenges are always getting a full taste brew and cleaning. This one solves those problems. Why? The quality of the filter is a lot better than the mesh screen type. It filters better. Because the filter doesn’t sit on the bottom of the holder, the sludge does not stay in the filter. Very easy to clean with a paper towel after a simple rinse. They all tell you to use coarse ground. I don’t. I use cheap pre ground coffee because if you add milk and sweetener the nuance of expensive coffee is lost anyway, at least for me. Issues: the instructions are weak, especially on attaching the filter basket holder. Hint: insert making a Y with the wide part at the top. It also uses a significant amount of coffee: 9 ounces. (There is line on the filter basket so you don’t have to weigh it.) Suggestion: during the brew waiting period, slowly stir now and then. The coffee holder does not fit very well in refrigerator and won’t fit in the door on mine. Who cares? I use a thin container I already had. All in all a superior cold coffee brewer at a good price. Recommended. ... show more

  • Great so far
Seems great so far, no dripping as other reviews have mentioned. It's much easier than the coffee sock cold brew i had been making especially since i don't have to sit there and squeeze the sock, i just let it drip for a few mins. I transfer the cold brew into another container afterwards because the round shape makes it hard to fit other r stuff in my mini fridge. The instructions are easy but they are specific ( measure out like 41oz of water and later add 21oz of water on top), nice even numbers probably would make it easier for people. People trying to eyeball it may be why some people are reporting dripping. I'll update if anything goes wrong. ... show more

  • Awesome Brewer
This is literally in my opinion the perfect brewer. From its simple design to its compact design, you can't go wrong. It is easy to take apart and clean, and the metal base doesn't stain or alter the taste of the coffee. The brewer is very well built along with the stainless steel reusable filter, this is by far the best bang for your buck. Customer service is very responsive and helpful with any questions or concerns and they stand by their product. ... show more

  • Easy to clean and makes two days worth of cold brew
Great material, not cheap or thin metal. The mouth of the pot and the filter is wide and that makes it much easier to clean than previous cold brew containers I have used. I drink a Yeti mug of coffer each morning and this covers two days each batch. I do about a cup of grinds each time but there is room to triple that amount in the metal filter if you want way stronger coffee. ... show more

  • Best one so far!
I actually bought this last year (July 2022). I had delicious cold brew iced coffee over the entire hot summer. It is now July 3rd, 2023 & I just pulled it out of my cabinet for this summer. Item is easy to use but be careful when pouring water over the ground coffee because it can spill over & end up in the pot. Then you'll have coffee grounds at the bottom of your cup. Just remember to pour slowly & stir the grounds while pouring so that it is all evenly "wet." I love the fact that it makes a large batch of iced coffee. I like my coffee strong so I let it sit in the fridge for a full 24 hrs before removing the mesh basket. I don't put any components in the dishwasher. Instead I do a gentle hand wash so as not to expose any plastic parts to the heat dry. I've seen some reviews where they stated the basket broke or got clogged in a short amount of time or that the lid leaks. It's been a year now & I've never had an issue after multiple uses. We'll see how it holds up over this summer. I highly recommend this item. ... show more

  • Good item
Though everything is thin and not at a very high quality it is holding up in its second year of use. I really like that the mesh sleeve for the grounds is metal instead of a plastic or cloth like material since it is much easier to clean and doesn't deform. The opening is wide enough to comfortably reach in to scrub clean though it quickly became stained brown so can't tell how clean it actually is. ... show more

  • Great purchase! The hardest thing about using this is having to wait 12 hours!
We've followed the directions and have had no problems at all with filling the pot or having coffee grounds overflow. The large filter basket might feel a bit delicate, but it's very easy to rinse out. We dump out the grounds and rinse the basket immediately after the last of the coffee drains into the pot. The basket is then put in a cabinet until the pot's empty and we need to make some more cold-brew, so we're expecting this to last a long, long time. The pot is short enough to fit nicely in the refrigerator with no need to decant into a pitcher ...nice feature! ... show more
