Simple is a good way to describe it. There’s probably cheaper racks out there, but we needed one to specifically fit in a 27” wide space and this fit nicely. We fit 3 men’s or 4 women’s pairs per row. (I have a combo of heels and sneakers.) You can fit some thin slides underneath as well. It’s sturdy and has lasted us a year. Cleaning is easy, I just dust it or use a damp paper towel if there’s stains. Assembly was easy to follow, but does require a little strength to lock in the rods tightly to the outside frame. It does wobble a bit, but if you knock it down, it stays intact; and it has a set place in our home, so we’re not constantly bumping into it or anything. I’ve been needing a shoe rack to get my shoes off the closet floor. I bought the 5 tier shoe rack thinking I would have lots of room for more shoes. Nope. The shoes I had took up the entire rack. So if you’re trying to decide about whether to buy the 3,4 or 5 tier shoe rack, my advice is buy 5. My friend assembled it for me as he’s a handyman. It took him longer than I expected. I’m glad I bought the shoe rack. It’s fairly sturdy and the black shoe rack looks good in my room. I wish I had bought it years ago. Now I can’t imagine how I did without one. ... show more

I’m a little disappointed with this shoe rack. I did a lot of research before purchasing and I had a lot of specific desires with my shoe rack (wanted one that was deeper, had a lot of space between shelves, long, didn’t have just 2 bars, had space underneath to store shoes, etc.). I landed on this one being my best option. Unfortunately, it wasn’t as good as I hoped. The space between shelves isn’t enough and the space beneath the rack wasn’t that high. What I didn’t realize was the space between shelves varied if you install the shelves just like the pictures in the instructions. So the space between the top shelf & bottom shelf is less than the space between the middle & bottom shelf. Unfortunately, I can’t create more space between the top & middle shelf. I can’t create more space between the bottom & middle shelf, but if I do that, I lose my space underneath the rack to store any short shoes, like slippers. I’ve included pictures to show the height of shelves and what the measurements would be if you adjusted the height of the bottom shelf. I’ve also included pictures to show measurements of the entire unit. I do like that the shelf is expandable to fit my space, even if I move it to another area (which was important to me). I don’t love the wire style shelf as there are too many gaps where the heels of my shoes may fall into, making it harder to pull my shoes out. (My shoe rack is on a shelf over my head.) My shoe rack was a bit wobbly/uneven, so I unscrewed one of the feet to level it out. That made a huge difference, so I’m happy that was an option. The shoe rack also seems sturdy. It was super easy to assemble and expand. I have not finished putting shoes on the shoe rack yet in these pictures, but you should still get an idea on size and space and the type of shoes that will fit. (I am a woman’s size 8.) Perhaps there’s not a better shoe rack out there to fit all my desires, but I am disappointed with this one. I am keeping it regardless and it will serve its purpose, but I wish I had bought a different one. Just because this shoe rack does not meet all of my desires though doesn’t mean it won’t meet yours because it is a very nice quality shoe rack. And it is deeper than most other ones.
