This is a Verified Purchase Review: I am not sure what people are complaining about, especially if they say the item came "damaged" -- the product is packed in a very sturdy styrofoam that is in the shape of the box, so there is no way for the glass to break. Also, the complaint that the light is on ONE side is not really true nor it is considered a "defect" -- if you have every studied in an actual university library (where many of these type of banker lamps are), then they are ALL like this -- they are made to ONLY fit 1 bulb! The only adjustment the manufacturer needs to make is that they say a 40W bulb is MAX but in fact, when you read the inscription on the hardware of where the bulb is inserted, it is a standard 60W -- so you can use a 60W bulb with this and not limit yourself to a dim 40W. Overall, I LOVE the "clicking" sound when pulling down the chain (gives a nice sensation) and makes me focused more on my work. It provides ample lighting, which I prefer than a very "focused" light that most lamps are these days. The foam that covers the base was only stretched halfway around and adhesive sealed under the rim making it wobbly and also a wood hazard with the exposed metal rim. Speaking of exposed metal rims, the center stem has exposed seams which make it look like something was supposed to be an insert, but instead leave semi-sharp edges and the perfect crevices for the styrofoam packing to escape into. I had to use thin tools to dig out he broken off styrofoam foam from within here. The T-arm was crooked, listing the actual lamp shade at a slight angle up and to the left, so I had to set it on the right side of my desk to disguise the defect as much as possible. Holding the shade up to to desired position took some extra squeezing of the arms to the glass so I could tighten the screws. The presence of the clear gaskets to aide in holding the shade are obvious, ugly, and do not even work in their function. The white shade also had a couple pit marks from defects in the glass production. Overall, spend more if you want something for your office. I’d be ashamed for a client to see this. I only spent $22 on it for my spare bedroom, and it’s not worth the hassle of repacking and sending back, so for me I will make do. ... show more

Liked the weight and style of the lamp. However, it arrived bent and no amt. of bending was able to right it. It also had a number of scratches on the base and glass, despite being packed nicely, which means they happened at the factory, before packaging. Soldering was shoddy at best and assemble was poor. All in all, not worth the money, so it's going back. ... show more

I have to say that normally I don't write bad reviews but the workmanship with this lamp is atrocious. Th holes on the lampshade are chipped as if cut with a hammer and chisel and the shade constantly rotates down, There is no way to tighten it and the electric end is stripped. So the entire bulb part hangs down below the shade if you can get it to not swivel. I threw the packaging away, otherwise it would be shipped right back. I wil duct tape it to get it to work, but so disappointed. ... show more

So, I'd give this a 5-star had it not have a weird bend in neck of the lamp, so the glass covering looks like it goes upward from the stand. I've tried to bend it down, but I don't want to break the neck or the glass. Its really not a HUGE deal but it throws me off visually when I'm looking at my piano it is sitting on top of. I think it got damaged in shipping, as the styrofoam was not the worlds best (I package things up at my work for shipment) and the box wasn't the sturdiest. But... its good enough and I'm getting a great amount of light from the soft white 75 LED bulb I put in it. ... show more

After searching high and low for weeks trying to find the perfect desk lamp, I settled on this one because I loved the vintage design and the rose gold color. Upon receiving and unpacking it, I immediately noticed some scratches on both the metal and the glass, and where the glass is connected to the metal looks cheap. The base is a little too big. The lampshade would not stay up. It kept falling. I sent a complaint to the seller and they immediately sent a replacement, but the carriers mishandled the package and when I opened it the shade was busted. I am going to glue the lampshade so it won't turn upside down. I don't know what else to do. I appreciated the seller's prompt response to replace the lamp and I am sending them their replacement lamp back. ... show more

I was looking for rose gold office décor and bought this as soon as I saw it without hesitation. Rose gold is tricky because sometimes things are tinted more pinkish and sometimes they are tinted more copper. This is pretty much copper. I think it's a bit pricy seeing as how I found another copper desk lamp at Home Goods for only fifteen dollars. I decided to keep it but had I found the Home Goods lamp first I wouldn't have even given this a second look. As the Home Goods lamp is smooth.
