  • Good value. Love the plasma cutter. Works best at 220 - 240v
Style: SD-4050 Pro
Received the welder quickly and undamaged. Have only used it for the plasma cutter and stick welder so far. Instructions do not exist except for the quick guide. I was able to find setup instructions and recommended settings through online searches and YouTube videos. I created an extension cord connector to connect the three prong plug on the welder to a four prong plug for my generator at 240v. Love the plasma cutter. Worked well with 90 psi air and 240v. Would not recommend for 110v. Still not sure about all of the settings for the plasma cutter without instructions. Stick welder worked well on 240v at 100 -130 amps for 6011 3/32 rods. Will update my review once I use the TiG and MiG function. So far, has been worth the price. ... show more

  • Great little Flux Core welder
Style: MIG Welder 140
As a DIY’er( first time welding ) this thing works great. I tried it on both 120 and 240, 240 seems to lay down beads nicer. My first time welding 120 wall mild steal at 80amps did just fine. I’m practicing to weld up a set of rock sliders for my truck. I was using the .030 wire it came with. I’ll be trying 1/4” steal plate with .035 wire soon. This is a great buy for the space and affordability. If you don’t want to buy an actual Mig machine this one is great. ... show more

  • Pretty good cheap welder
Style: MIG Welder 140
Only had it for a few days now and it so far is welding great. I’ve only ran it on 110v but it’s running good on it. For the price can’t beat it compared to others.

  • Mig 140s. It works but some limits
Style: MIG Welder 140
I've only used this as a MIG welder so far. The manual that comes with it is worthless. In fact, it's not even for this machine. You get a 1 lb spool of wire whereas earlier versions came with 2 lb. No big deal. It works really well on 110 v and I'm happy with it as far as that goes. I haven't tried it on 220 yet. I haven't sticked welded with it yet. Unfortunately, in order to do stick welding once you're set up for mig, you have to lose about five or six feet of wire in order to plug the stinger in. Also, the manual doesn't tell you how to set it up for stick welding. In fact, the manual being for another model is wrong. There's an earlier version that has some YouTube videos that have different connectors for the Mig connection. This version requires you to disconnect the entire mig gun and plug into where the wire comes out. I guess it's not a big deal, but it is something to note. The power cord is very short maybe about four feet or so and the leads on the welders or maybe 5-6 ft. So you got to be close to the machine when you're welding. It's light enough that you can put the machine anywhere, so length isn't much of a deal breaker. It's flux core only, but the supplied mig gun is for gas. Not a big deal, but it technically has the wrong tip for a flux core welding. The door on my welder doesn't latch fully. There is no instructions inside the door as shown on the pictures in the listing. There are no suggested speeds or settings for different thicknesses of metal. There's really no explanation as to what the voltage knob does and there's no display reaction when you turn that knob. I got mine delivered for $86, so it's worth it, but it's pretty bare bones. There are no extras such as a cheap mask or a hammer or anything like that. You do get one extra tip and one extra gas nozzle. Overall I like it and I think it welds well so far. It just has a couple of negatives. ... show more

  • Reliable
Style: MIG Welder 140
This machine is easy to use, works well and is very functional. I bought it as a present for my husband as the plant he normally uses is quite large and not easily transported. This does the job and is quite reliable.

  • THREE defective welders in a ROW! NO quality control!
Style: SD-4050 Pro
I received THREE defective Simder multi-process welders, each with different processes that wouldn't work. I emailed with them for over a month, & they quit responding after saying that they were going to "check with tech support" when the Tig amperage wasn't adjustable when set to foot pedal, although it would adjust when set to torch. The settings didn't hold when you switched back to foot pedal, so it was at 20A! I was a month past the Amazon return period, so I called them, forwarded the 43 emails between me & Simder, sent a screenshot of the last emails without a response, & Amazon is refunding me! • Great little multiprocess welder for beginners.
Style: MIG250
Pretty nice welder, this is my very first time welding. Been doing a lot of reading and finally decided to get this multiprocess welder because of the all inclusiveness. You do have to buy the TIG gun separate as well as an argon tank if you want to do TIG or regular MIG. The instruction book is pretty basic. The voltage knob is a little tricky because there’s no values just a 1-10 but 1 is 10volts and 10 is 220volts in 240v mode. I tried the flux core MIG and didn’t do too bad, the amp knob is basically your speed and the voltage knob controls your arc. Arc mode so far is my favorite. I’ve tried 6013 which I really like and 7018 which is different but I’m getting the hang of it. For Arc mode start with the suggested amps for the electrode thickness in the manual and the volt knob around 6. Like I said for a first timer I didn’t do too bad and I really like this welder. I did purchase an argon tank and the TIG gun but haven’t tried regular MIG or TIG. I will update when I try them out and on the longevity of the unit. Also the ground clamp is pretty flimsy and the cables for the clamp and electrode holder are short. I upgrade my clamp and made a nice heavy duty cable longer. I’ll probably get a different electrode holder too, it’s not bad just the electrodes feel loose if they aren’t close to the pivot hinge. All in all worth the money so far. Update, made a cart for it using the supplied wire which is .035 flux core. I’m no expert but it worked flawlessly. ... show more
