These are fine clamps for a welding table if you are an occasional welder, or for hobby use. I certainly don't recommend them for a welding shop or in any application where they are used frequently. For my purposes where I am welding occasionally, or for general repairs, they work fine.

I have been a welder for 50 years and used many different types of holddowns over the years and for the price excellent and the finsh is second to nobody . These clamps are used with welding tables with 1/8 thick or 3/16 thick tables NOT cast iron tables . Like the threaded base with nut to keep the hold down from a bad tilt that might move your part when tightning . ... show more

    • They're okay enough.
Not really suited to my 3/4" inch holes, and I don't like that they have to be bolted through, but they should work for light duty. But they will work for 5/8" and 3/4"

    • Good value for the money. Crossbar is aluminum, not steel. Fine for most work.
I bought this set to use with my 2' x 3' x 3 mm moveable welding table. The base of the clamp rod is threaded and has a nut that goes under the table. This is an advantage for a thin welding table like mine. You might not need the nut with a thicker table. As stated, these clamps are designed for 16 mm (0.630") holes and the step at the bottom of the rod has a diameter of 0.625" which gives a comfortable clearance. The stamped holes in my inexpensive table were only 0.622" diameter, so I turned the step down to about 0.617" and they work fine. ... show more

For hobby/home users with thinner plate fixture table, 16mm holes, these are perfect. The threaded nut helps lock the clamp, since the table top is rather thin for wedge anchoring.
