  • How is this possible??
Style: TIG200ACDCGD
I have been a fabricator for many years so naturally I have two Miller Syncrowave’s and several mig machines at work. I’ve been setting up my shop at home so I don’t have to go into work every time I need to get something done and a tig welder was a priority for me, so I started looking around. I came across this little beauty and after reading all of the good reviews and watching the in depth videos weldpro has put out on it, I decided to pull the trigger. That was on Friday, it is now Tuesday and it’s set up in my garage ready to go, so shipping was unbelievably fast. Opening the box I immediately noticed the care these guys take in packing the machine. Custom corner protectors in the box, perfectly fit foam around the welder and a box with attachments filling in the remaining space. For most people packing probably doesn’t mean much, but for me that is a huge indicator of things to come. The machine feels like it is well constructed, it will take some time getting used to the adjustments panel just because I’m so used to my other welders, but it is still fairly intuitive. The attachments are premium which is insane considering the price point. The pedal has a really nice smooth feel and controls amperage nicely and in addition it comes with a finger trigger which I will put to use when I’m twisted into a pretzel welding roll cages. The ground cable has a quick connection to the welder and a premium T clamp, not a junky ground clamp. The torch is CK worldwide so obviously it will be good but reading through the specs on this machine I expected a CK17 ridged torch with the super flex cable, which I would have been happy about, but instead I received the CK17 super flex with a flex torch head, even better!! I haven’t messed with any settings other than amperage and straight out the gate it’s putting down decent welds. I’m excited to dive into this thing and get it fine tuned so I can really see what it’s capable of. In conclusion I truly don’t understand how they can sell this welder so cheap while including premium attachments and a machine with every feature you could want. ... show more

  • Better than Miller diversion 180 🥴
Style: TIG200ACDCGD
Yes I said it. This is better than the $2000 Miller diversion 180, in my opinion. Mine quit working and I was scrambling to find a replacement, this welder on Amazon has similar specs and can do both ac/dc just like my 180. Now I’m not saying this just because mine died. This welder has much more adjustability and to be honest, seems like the arc is more stabile. Same torch too so that’s weird. My one and only real complaint is the fan runs constantly on this weldpro machine and it’s some what loud. But that’s literally my only complaint so far. It works amazing and my welds are far better with this machine than my diversion 180, which is just insane. Same torch, same cups even. Amazing welder for the money! ... show more

  • Great deal for the money
Style: TIG200ACDCGD
Packaging, OMG everything should be packaged like this machine. I think they could have drop kicked it off the back of the truck and it would have still functioned perfectly after unpacking. Controls are simple to understand even for a newbie like me. Buttons are positive, the amperage knob being digital in nature is a great feature, no worrying about twisting it off at the end and needing service. I like that it remembers the settings I used from the last session at startup. I can imagine that it'll make going from one day to the next on similar tasks much easier. My firsts welds with TIG were with this machine, they just so happened to be fusion welds on 20ga cold rolled steel. Came out perfectly. With the small HAZ, the weld plannished easily and the shrinkage at the weld was quickly corrected. For a hobbiest like me this is the perfect little machine. I should have changed from MIG years ago. ... show more

  • Great for the money!
Style: TIG200ACDCGD
I bought this in March but have just now gotten around to using it. Packaging was fine. It's well protected in thick styrofoam. I added the the CK 20 torch to mine. The unit seems very well built. The controls are pretty simple and I was able to figure them out easily without referencing the book. So far, I've been using it to TIG weld 16 ga A36 1x1 square tube to 16 ga A36 plate for a project. In theee days I've put probably 8hrs weld time with this machine. So far it's held up nicely, welding around 6 inches at a time. My skills have atrophied since I haven't welded in 6 mos or so, si likely most errors are user related. The machine seems to weld as good as any Lincoln or Miller I've used. It's also a small, light machine which is useful for those if us that don't have a massive shop. The pedal is responsive and firm. I like it. The instructions are set up for someone who has TIG'd before, but are explanatory enough that a newbie could probably figure it out. I don't care for the gas cooled torch. I've been using watercooled torches up until now on the shop machines. I find that with longer welds the torch gets very hot (it can burn me through stick gloves) on longer welds. I'm certain this is the nature of has cooled torches in general. I find my tungsten dulls very quickly by comparison to water cooled torches. Again, probably the nature of the beast. An option to purchase a watercooled torch with this machine would be a great idea. I have an external watercooler I'll eventually use when I but a water cooled torch. I DO NOT like the work clamp. The spring is extremely stiff. So stiff that your average guy like me struggles with it. It doesn't quite open a full inch either, which means if you're using anything bigger than 3/4 inch tubing, you'll have a hard time finding a place to clamp it to your work. I've had to clamp it to my table, which works, but I'd rather clamp it to the work for a better connection. I have not used it in AC yet, but I have an upcoming project for that so I'll add it to the review later. Pay close attention to the instructions for AC. The balance is set up OPPOSITE of Miller machines. So instead of 70 on the Miller machines in the shop, it's 39 on this machine. I don't remember if it's pos or neg right now, just that it's opposite the way I set it up in the shop. Again, that's covered in the instructions. Overall it seems to be a solid machine, especially for less that $1k. UPDATE: the AC works great. However, I am annoyed because I founf out today that the pressure gauge is off by a HUGE amount. I will be contacting the seller, because it has cost me $100 in bottles that I thought were empty (or nearly so) that weren't. I just welded an 8 ft continuous weld on 0 PSI. Been that way for 4 hours. Not pleased about THAT. Update 2: customer was great. Sent a new regulator with no issues. ... show more
