We are loving this already! Though it did take my husband and me five days to do it. The first day was spent digging a hole 24 inches deep and 18 inches wide through limestone. On the 2nd day mixed the concrete in an older wheelbarrow that collapsed! 😂 We were successful and three days later we began putting together the rest of it. Our only complaint is that when we went to put the backboard on the 4 bolts already on the swivel head they did not line up. If we have been smart we would have tried it first on the ground to make sure they would. They were already soldered on it and it looked easy for us to just put it on over those 4 bolts. Nope! The holes on the backboard did not match up. So here are these 60+ grandparents on two ladders trying to lift the backboard over our heads and the swivel head would swivel down and the screws would only go in on one side. So finally I said let's get our 4x4 and stand in the back of it because it is stable and try to jimmy it on. It was easier standing on the 4x4 and we got a mallet to pound and get the bolts through. Probably not recommended but after much jimmying and pounding the holes got bigger and more lined up. After that was on, it was a piece of cake. The instructions are excellent. The pictures are true to size for all the bolts, nuts, etc. We especially like being able to adjust the size of the grandkids. It seems to be very sturdy and we took the time to follow the instructions for the pole in the ground. It is not going anywhere I hope in our very high winds on Lake MI. ... show more

I've installed two of these. The second method I used was much easier. I concreted in the bottom pole as the directions say, but built everything else in the garage, adding it to the base pole once the entire top portion was assembled. BUY THE LIGHT! It is way cool!

This was well worth the money in the issues it solved. Strong and the kids even hang from the rim. Instructions were easy to follow. Hole was big and we used 12 bags of cement.

I am pretty good when it comes to assembling things. I consider myself a skilled DIYer. This hoop was a challenge to install. The tolerances of welded stud bolts to was off by 1/8" meaning I had to ream out a couple of holes to connect the pole sections. THe backboard had a similar issue. Even with two men we were not able to install the backboad as described in the instructions. Instead we had to reverse engineer the instructions to connect the backboard. It's not that the unit is poorly made. It is stout and solid. I think it will last and am pleased with it. My only complaint is that the tolerances need to be a bit more generous (or the quality control of alignment needs to be more precise). ... show more

Easy install with some adjustments as others called out. 1. Absolutely put the backboard assembly and top pole together before bolting onto poles 1&2 already in the ground. Two of us walked up a couple ladders to do so. 2. Digging recommended hole used 9 bags of 50lb. Quick set concrete for us. 3. If you have a 2 man auger this could easily be a short day job (and use quick set concrete). It was about 90 minute assembly of parts. Your time will most likely be spent digging, this is the worst part as we were digging through Carolina clay. Auger would have been great. ... show more

Hi It was extremely difficult to install this hoop because of the not aligned holes for the bolts. Also bolts were larger than the holes made. It made us stranded when we had to put the frame in up there. I had to get it installed from professionals which was expensive and was not planned. I will definitely not recomment this to anyone. ... show more

I bought this hoop as a Christmas gift for the family. My husband is pretty handy and was able to install it properly. My children love it and it is very sturdy and official. My youngest child love that he can wind the level up or down to bring the hoop down to his height. Great buy and well worth it. This hoop was installed/cemented in ground but we plan on living in our house for a very long time. If you’re planning on moving in a year or so might be best to get a portable hoop. ... show more
