I give this twin mattress 4 stars because there is always room for improvement. This mattress comes in a small box but it expands to a full size mattress. Comfortable to sit on and to lay on. Firstly, I never actually leave reviews, even when I am displeased with a product. So for me to get on here and write a review, it's bad. I realize reviewing a mattress can be a very subjective thing; whatever is comfortable to me might not be comfortable to you, etc. However, this mattress is complete garbage and even dangerous. (And I didn't have high expectations to begin with. I knew I was purchasing a budget mattress. It's that bad.) The listing advertises that there are heavy duty coils and 1" of foam on top. The coils are so weak, when you sit on the mattress, you can feel them bending sideways under your weight (and I am petite). Also, there is ZERO foam on top. It is fabric, a TINY amount of some batting (about a centimeter or less), and then metal coils. When you sit or lie on the mattress, the coils poke you. I purchased this mattress to go in my son's room as an occasional bed for guests and for him when he transitions out of a crib. I would not feel comfortable letting anyone sleep on this mattress for fear of the coils popping through the thin fabric and cutting someone. There also is not a tag to be seen anywhere on this mattress. (You know, those mandatory "do not remove except for the consumer," tags?) I do not believe this is an Ashley Furniture mattress. If you buy this, I believe you are being scammed. I figured out afterwards that lots of people are displeased and returning. Don't waste your money or time. ... show more

Mattress came on time. It came rolled in a box and also came in a vacuum sealed bag so be careful when unboxing. It took a few days for it to reach full size. It came with no broken springs. The first week was an adjustment I was sore and could not sleep. After that first week I now sleep like a baby. The springs where bent and broken and it wouldnt lay flat. The corners of the bed turned up on one end and folded under on the other. The springs made loud popping noises and you could tell they were twisted and broken. Amazon was wonderful in resolving my issue with this, however.

The mattress is soft on top, yet it's firm enough to sit on, overall, very comfortable!!! Yes, it's bouncy and has a soft pillow top so it's quite comfortable and firm enough to sit on if desired... The best part, when I purchased it, it only cost me $155 plus tax and it was delivered to my door... We bought this bed as a full for my daughter's conversion bed. It is pleasantly firm and very comfortable. We use it on a box spring. We were very concerned about buying a mattress online for the first time, but would definitely do again. Mattress comes rolled up in a long box. This is the 2nd Ashley 10 inch mattress that I have purchased through Amazon and neither comes close to 10 inches. I thought after buying the first mattress that just maybe a well known brand would get it right. Wrong. There's also a dip towards the edges and it's not filled out evenly. It's always a chance when buying furniture and pieces such as mattresses online because the effort to send it back is usually unreasonable. I wouldn't recommend just based on the fact that this is the second mattress within months that failed to deliver on what was advertised. ... show more
