I was sure this was going to be too big for this space. It is very large. However, it's a low profile so doesn't seem abnoxious. I wanted something that could sit two people when needed while its normal use would be a cozy seat to read in. This chair is perfect. It's big but it actually has a smaller footprint than the recliner (when reclined) we had there before. It turns which is nice. Very cozy. The fabric gives more of a gray white than ivory. It’s very sturdy, firm cushion, but the pillows are horrendous. Why not just match the chair?! I thought I’ll take the covers off and replace them …. Well guess what, there’s no inner pillow case. The decorative cover is the ONLY cover for the pillows - when you unzip them it’s just straight filling - nothing in between. So IF you just so happened to spill or stain them, taking them off to wash wouldn’t be an option, you’d literally have to pull out tons of stuffing. How stupid is that!? What’s the point of them even having a zipper on the pillow. You’d think a big furniture company wouldn’t sell pillows like that. If you’re bothered by small details like me, you’ll also hate the way the fabric meets at the front of the cushion from the top piece to the side. Sigh, it’s not a deal breaker but it’s annoying. I originally got the chair bc I like the design of the backing with the pillows, other barrel chairs had weird backs. This one also swivels quite well and holds a lot of weight. I now love this swivel chair but I almost returned it due to a major design flaw in my opinion. The chair is huge and heavy and because it also swivels it needs proper stability - which it didn’t have. When sitting down, the whole thing would rock and felt unstable. If you sat close to the edge, it would tilt forward and the bottom edge would hit the floor. I am not overweight so that wasn’t the issue. I was so disappointed I almost returned it. Instead, my handy husband added rolling swivel casters all along the bottom edge which eliminated the rocking and bottoming out but still allowed it to swivel in place. Also, the seat and three back pillows are much firmer than I expected. All that aside, it makes for a great cozy nest with some extra (softer) pillows for support and a fluffy blanket. I really like the swivel feature, gray color and soft, chunky corduroy texture. I enjoy curling up in it to watch TV and I can easily turn it around to enjoy a different view. Since we had to make a modification to be satisfied with it, I’m giving it three stars and frankly it’s overpriced due to the poor design for stability. ... show more
