This is a GREAT sturdy chair, but when you extend the footrest, you have to kick it extremely hard in order to close it. Also, the footrest release is hidden inside the chair, next to the cushion, and isn't visible. It would be better if the footrest release had a visible handle on the side of the chair, and you were able to use the handle to also close the footrest. Other than the footrest issue, the quality of the chair is as good, if not better than LA-Z-BOY. The price is definitely better than LA-Z-BOY!@! First, no delivery options were offered. I was worried about this with such a large, heavy item. I was right to be worried. I contacted seller repeatedly to ask for delivery options because of size and weight of the item. The seller refused all options, none were offered on amazon and they would only 'deliver to the threshold.' On day of delivery, yesterday, I got only 30 minutes notice from some strange delivery company, did not know if it was a scam, before delivery drivers showed up. Delivery people tried to leave this sofa that weighs about 200 lb ON the sidewalk, blocking access to the front porch. These were two big guys. I had to inform them that it is supposed to be delivered to at least the threshold, which means the area in front of the front door and asked them to put where they are supposed to (I'm already not being given any options to even get this big heavy thing into my house). They started walking away without saying anything. I persisted and they finally picked the sofa up from where they parked it on the sidewalk and put it on teh front stoop until I could get someone else to help bring it in since the seller refused to offer this at all. I had to pay someone 150 to get the item into the front room on the other side of the front door, into my house the next day. The item stayed outside on my front stoop all night. When I finally inspected the sofa only after the movers i paid were able to get it off the front stoop and into my house, no thanks to amazon and the seller, i saw that this Ashley sofa that costs WAY too much, has PLASTIC FEET, NO RUBBER, NO WOOD, PLASTIC FEET THAT YOU HAVE TO SCREW IN THE BASE YOURSELF: NO GUIDE HOLES, NOTHING. THIS SOFA IS ALMOST 1K AND HAS CHEAP HOLLOW PLASTIC FEET! I have NOT been able to get those on yet. I am so frustrated and disappointed. IF this is what Ashley furniture is, I will not be buying it again. That's a ridiculous price for that shoddy product. You cannot move this without scratching a floor becuase of the cheap feet and size and weight of this sofa. I havent even gotten around to trying to pull the sofa bed out yet but reviews I've read already inform me to prepare to be disappointed. Don't buy this sofa or off amazon, you will be paying far more than the actual price and amazon and the seller make it a nightmare to deal with for a shoddy product. I checked again today and it shows that this sofa has still not been delivered, likely to try to prevent any real world review of slapshod shipping practices, delivery handling and product. If it wasn't 'delivered' then there can't be a review, right? It was delivered. It was a nightmare. Don't get this sofa. Dear Ashley: Your product and delivery sucks. I had to pay an additional $150 to get the sofa right inside my door. I had to pay an additional $50 for wooden feet to put on the bottom of this sofa. Ashley charges premium prices while they are too cheap to even bother with basic customer service, quality by refusing to pre-drill holes into the bottom of the sofa for the feet and only providing cheap plastic feet with deep holes that are impossible to secure to the sofa. This shoddy assembly while they charge close to 1k and more for a single sofa. You don't have to ask me if I will buy an Ashley anything or from this company: NOPE. Non-existent customer service, shoddy construction and don't give a damn about the customer or what they are paying for this piece of..... ... show more
