After lots of research (3 months) I decided on this bed. I wanted something soft but supportive. I decided a hybrid was the best option for us. I stumbled across this originally on the Ashley website. They had it listed at $599 on sale at $249 for the 12 inch queen. This price made me ecstatic because I was planning on spending A LOT more. I budgeted $700 for a new mattress. I started looking at reveiws. Most were great, very few were not. I decided to check here on Amazon to see if prime was an option. It wasn't but it was cheaper and still offered free delivery. Ashley site said about 3 weeks to receive. I took a leap of faith and order here on Aug 31 (a friday) and was guaranteed delivery by the sept 14th. That Monday it shipped originally it was set to arrive Sept 7th but got delayed due to natural disaster (assuming California fires since it shipped from there and I am in Washington) and arrived Monday Sept 10th. This made me super happy! Be warned it is SUPER heavy like 100 lbs. I did move it and set it up myself because I am stubborn but you really should use two people. It was a huge struggle for me but I was determined to set up before the husband came home. Once opened it expanded immediately. The topper was fully expanded by bedtime 3 hours later. There was a strong chemical smell (normal for the memory foam) right when you unwrap it but was gone in a few minutes. OH MY once I laid down I was in heaven! The few reveiws saying this is hard as concrete are completely INSANE! It is very supportive but so plush and soft at the same time. Like sleeping on a marshmallow. Even my husband who doesn't care about anything luxury laid down and said it was amazing! (He snored all night long lol) It was the BEST night sleep ever. I am waking up with ZERO hip or shoulder pains. My arms arent going to sleep overnight. I dont need caffeine in the morning. Just like that this mattress has improve my life 1000%. My only complaint I don't want to get up in the morning because it is SOOOOOOOO comfy. We are buying 2 more for our kids ASAP. I am sure those super expensive $4000 are possibly better. But if you are like me and had a budget this is your mattress! Bonus I had money left for new bedding and pillows. Verdict I recommend this bed 1000 times over! ... show more

    • Excellent Mattress for the Price

Hello, I believe for the price that this is an excellent quality mattress. Of course it came shipped in a box, awaiting me on the front porch when I got home. I ordered the queen size 12 inch mattress. I brought it in, opened up the box and pulled it out. The mattress was wrapped very tightly and of course had been vacuum sealed for shipping. Once I unrolled the outer wrap and placed it in the bedroom, it was unfolded laying flat now but still sealed. Immediately after opening the plastic around it, the vacuum seal was broken and it fluffed up very quickly. Now this is the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. As many other reviews have stated, the mattress only fluffed up to about 10 inches. After the immediate opening it didn't get any bigger except in the first hour of opening. I measured it multiple times over 72 hours and it never grew any further after about the first hour of opening. I left it in the warm bedroom for 72 hours completely untouched and it did not grow any further in size. Now, I was absolutely expecting this after reading other reviews so I'm not upset and am happy with my purchase. But accordingly I had to take a star off due to the product description saying it's a 12 inch mattress when in my and other's experience of doing everything correctly as stated it is only 10 inches. The mattress did fluff up evenly all across, no lumps or random spots where it sagged or anything. It is nice and uniform all around. I've been sleeping on it for almost a week now and as for the quality and comfort of the mattress, I am so far very happy with it. I am a big guy, 6 ft and 350lbs and the mattress is very comfortable to me. I move around a lot in my sleep and sleep on my back, on my side, on my stomach, all around basically. But every position I've slept in has been comfortable. It depresses a bit when laying on it, but not too much and still has a nice fairly firm support under me. My sleep quality has improved and I don't wake up stiff and sore like I did with my previous older mattress. The edges do feel slightly stiffer than the rest when sitting there, I'm not sure if the springs are slightly heavier along the edge to make up for the fact that people often sit on the edge and need a bit more support there. But if you sleep on or near the edge, I don't think you'll find it uncomfortable or notice a difference. It's not like it pushes you down in the middle, it just feels slightly stiffer at first when I sit on the edge. When I get up from anywhere on it, the mattress immediately pops back up as it should. Overall I love the mattress and my little nephew has laid on it too and said he really loves it. Only time will tell how long it will last, but for the price point I am extremely happy and from my experience thus far it is a quality and great mattress. If I could, I'd have given this a 4.5 out of 5 for the product description being off, but Amazon doesn't allow half stars so it's sitting at a 4. If something happens I will come back and update the review accordingly but so far I'm very pleased with my purchase and am looking forward to many comfortable and relaxing nights of sleep on my new mattress. I do highly recommend this if you are looking for a great priced new mattress to replace an old or uncomfortable mattress. Just know that even though you order the 12 inch chances are it's only going to get up to about 10 inches even if you leave it untouched for 72 hours. But yes, I still highly recommend this mattress at this time. ... show more

I recently purchased my second Chime mattress, and after a few detours with other brands, I’ve realized this is the one to beat. I bought my first one several years ago and was really impressed with the longevity and comfort. Since then, I actually tried two other popular mattress brands for different rooms in the house, but honestly, they didn't compare. The support and overall build quality on this Signature Design by Ashley model are just significantly better.
