Purchased a pair of Swarovski 10x42 SLCs in 2020 and they were great until they were stolen out of my truck right before Christmas. Went through the steps but had to replace them and went with the Zulu 12x’s. I was truly blown away. No, glass quality is not the same but the glass is definitely nice. The image stabilization feature is unreal, a true game changer. Even though they may not have the same glass and light gathering of the Swaros, I would take these if you asked me today. We’ll see how they do over time, but buy with confidence. A great product that makes glassing much, much more enjoyable. ... show more

I have been using Canon 10x30 IS for many years, and think they are superior to pure optical binoculars. The Zulu6 hdx 12x42 feels like an upgrade to the already very good Canon IS 10x30. The image is at least as bright as the Canon's (porro prism with 87.5% light transmission rate according to Allbinos.com), which is very good for roof prism binoculars. The two-stage stabilization is better than the Canon's. Even though the apparent FOV is 43.4° vs Canon's 55.3°, I don't feel too much difference and enjoy the view very much possibly because the image is so bright and sharp. The exit pupil 42/12=3.5 mm is larger than the Canon's which makes it easy to find the eyebox. The 17mm eye relief is also longer than the Canon's, very comfortable for eyeglasses wearers. ... show more

So a friend of mine let me use his Canon IS which made me want IS binoculars because I could count the points from a measured 300 yards. These are more more powerful and the IS is stunning! But the thing that get me is that Amazon sent me a used binocular. They work fine, the clarity is wonderful, I don't notice any chromatic a aberrations and the focusing is smooth. But really, getting used binoculars at this price is upsetting. I could have gotten them at Sportsman's warehouse new in the box. So, I like the binos and am keeping them, but I should have gotten a discount for getting used ones. Oh, and how I knew that they were used, the battery was in them and the sticker preventing battery contact with the terminals was stuck to the bottom. No plastic bag and no silica gel. There is no way that there wouldn't be silica gel in any package with optics. Mold would ruin the coatings and ruin the binoculars (and camera lenes). Amazon sells used stuff, but I got these just before the presidential price increases, so I gotta keep em or pay much more. Really, if you have never used IS binoculars, you don't know what you are missing. It much better than the IS on iphones zoomed to that extent. ... show more

Image stabilization is incredible for long and short range glassing. I've used these hunting. The ability of these Zulu6 optics to outperform non stabilized glass five times more expensive is impressive. The 12x seems like it would be too much for hunting in dense forest but it isn't. These 12x can perform the role of a spotting scope and close up optic for stalking. I've used them for hunting elk, whitetail, turkey and axis. 100% witch craft. ... show more

Do it. Pull the trigger. (Not paid for this review) Are they Swaro glass? No. Will you be pleasently surprised by the glass quality? YES Will they change your entire approach to glassing? YES Full disclosure I own Swaro 15 SLCs which I love and am somewhat of a glass snob. However, these are legit game changers. The glass quality is WAY better than I anticipated and the ability to glass without a tripod is a legit game changer. These are incredible I've got the first gen in the 16x42... and I wish I had them in the 2nd generation because the 12x42 2nd generation are amazing with the stability. I pick out way more game. I do t even bother taking a tripod and spotting scope anymore. Great product!
