I love the selection of colors in this kit. This clay is soft and doesn't require much conditioning. The colors stay fairly bright after curing (baking) but the clay remains 'spongy', soft, and a bit brittle after being baked at the manufacturer-suggested temperature and time. This clay won't work well for thin flat pieces or small beads, especially for jewelry which is designed to take some abuse from the simple act of wearing the piece. I have never worked with clay before. I am an artist who has worked with many mediums but never 3 dimensional artwork. So this was new for me. But for a first piece it turned out great! Simple to sculpt. Lots of colors and useful tools. I like that it stays soft until you bake it. I am working on a fairy sculpture and was able to use jewelry wire to create the frame for the body and wings. I like this product, it comes with everything, and there are multiple colors but it leaves an oily residue on your hands and it is very hard when you first start molding it. But it comes out great and baking it in many different ways is fun and easy.

This is one of my 9 year old daughter’s favorite crafts to do. She’s quite creative. This is her 2nd clay set. The first set she would take to her brothers hockey games and all the other hockey siblings would sit and create cute little creatures. PROS - I love the little crafting case it comes with. You can use it with the clay or other things. SO many colors! It comes with a lot of really good tools for working with clay. The attachments for earrings/charms/etc are pretty decent quality for the price. CONS - The clay is SO HARD to soften up enough to make it workable. I literally had to have my husband help me. I was very careful not to make anything to thin and put the clay in the oven for the exact, specified, temp + time. I even left it in the oven until completely cooled. Everything still cracked as soon as you pick it up and was extremely fragile. I don’t see how kids could possibly work with this given how hard the clay is. I would have been better off saving money and making my own DIY air dry clay. ... show more
