    • Good for beginners!
I was curious about polymer clay and wanted a beginner set to experiment with. This set comes with a nice selection of colors - great for newbies to experiment with. The clay was stiff out of the plastic, but softens quickly as you roll it in your hands. Some other reviews were critical of the metal cutters because of the seam on the edge. I haven't had any issues or problems. I was playing with this clay for jewelry making. My first batch was rolled out to thin, and the final product was bendy. I got some clay guides and find 2-3mm is the best thickness to get clean cuts. I got an acrylic "rolling pin" and silicone mat to protect my table. Also got some inexpensive disposable cake pans for baking clay. There was some color transfer to my hands, but it came off with dish soap. Learn from my mistakes!! I put my first batch in the toaster over and it burned. Turns out if clay is too close to the heating element, it will scorch and release fumes that can irritate your eyes/throat! :-( ... show more

This kit is great for starting out, the fastenings are good quality. The cut-outs work well and the other tools are pretty good. One thing this kit lacks is a roller which makes things a bit difficult. The clay needs to be worked and condition before use, otherwise it'll become brittle and break after baking. ... show more

My grandaughter is 10 and loves making jewelry with this kit. Everything is included. The only thing you may want to buy is a small rolling pin for jewelry use. She designs her own jewelry and makes about 6 pieces at a sitting. I use my large toaster oven to bake. There is no odd smells with this polymer clay. the clay is really soft, and tends to bubble a lot in the oven, its harder to get the air bubbles out of the clay before baking. If you're not making anything that will get a lot of use, this is fine. I suggest baking these at a lower temp for a little longer and flattening with something when they are still warm if you want flat even surfaces. ... show more

We followed instructions and the clay just won’t harden, after baking the recommended time and temp the piece was still completely soft not just slightly bendy but like it was never baked, it was baked with two other polymer pieces but the clay is of a different brand and the others turned out perfect I’m not sure what’s the deal but extremely frustrating putting a lot of time and work on a pendent to just be ruined ... show more
