I bought this to use in my hybrid classroom in which half my students are in person and the other half are online via ZOOM. Because of the current times, those of us in the classroom must wear a face mask and there are also plexiglass barriers for students and faculty. That makes the use of microphones in the classroom absolutely essential for the benefit of the students on ZOOM. But it is also very helpful in the classroom because wearing a mask makes it difficult to project your voice in the classroom. This unit easily plugs into the transmitter that is already in our classrooms. That gives me the protection of having my own headset, which seems essential when virus transmission is a strong concern. But this is also critical because each unit has to be connected to the classroom sound system and channels have to be carefully selected in order to avoid interference both within each classroom, but also from classroom to classroom. Trying to bring in your own transmitter would be highly impractical, so having an easily plugged in headset is a great compromise. The sturdy construction is also very important when wearing a mask. I have noticed when observing colleagues who are using the ultra-thin models that are also very popular that the light nature of those produces a rubbing sound with the mask that can produce a very annoying noise. This model on the other hand can be set right against the mask and will stay there, especially because of the larger foam cover. This creates a very stable sound and no rubbing noises. The cost of that of course is a heavier unit, which I do not find to be a problem. ... show more

My church guitarist has decided that he wants to sing in addition to playing guitar, after the first time using our wireless clip on mic it was apparent we needed to get the mic closer to his mouth so the guitar doesn't overpower the mic. We have shure wireless Mics so this was plug in and go.

We are using this with our QLX-D wireless mics - plugged directly to the body pack transmitter it had the proper mini XLR - no adapter needed. Sound quality was excellent when properly positioned directly in front of the mouth of the presenter. We have tried some of lightweight knock-offs, but this model is very study and so far has not been damaged by any of our presenters. ... show more
