  • Lavalier mic is not the problem
Style: CVL Centraverse
This Lavalier mic is greatly built, I'm pretty sure the mic should be great. The issue is the $800 Shure wireless transmitter and receiver are crap, that's because I cannot use this Lavalier mic. Shure is great at making Mic but NOT a wireless system, very disappointing experience.

  • This an underrated mic
Style: SM11-CN
This is definitely an underrated mic by musicians and sound engineers alike. I used to use it on my classical guitar some 20 years ago to gig on non concert venues. I even used it one time paired with a condenser exterior mic to play as a soloist with symphony orchestra in a big outdoors concert venue. It always worked fantastically. I lost it, and later started using other mics/pick ups. Just a few days ago I ordered a new SM 11. When it arrived today, I got thrilled testing it again. What a good sound out of my classical guitar! It's natural and full in range and tone. I used to placed it on the whole using the little tie clip that comes with it . Now, that I have a guitar with a sound port, I placed it there, and the sound is even better. I connected it to a Fishman Loudbox Mini (60W). Just needed to adjust the low, mid, and high frequencies, add a bit of reverb, and everything sounded great. I'm not fan of writing reviews, but i think this mic deserves more attention by classical and acoustic guitarists as well as those who do sound for them. Additionally, I don't think there is a better bang for the buck out there. ... show more

  • Works great

Picks up noise from the wearer's clothing. Not bad at avoiding feedback.

  • Just what the church needed.

Working perfectly with our older system. Clip is a little hard to press.

  • Fantastic!
Style: CVL Centraverse
I'm a wedding DJ. This gets used with a BLX or SLX bodypack to mic the officiant when I'm providing audio for ceremonies. The omnidirectional pattern of this mic is PERFECT for this situation; it typically picks up the bride and groom reciting their vows if they are standing within a couple of feet of the officiant. Granted, it doesn't pick them up nearly as well as the officiant, but it does help enough so guests can hear the "I do's" through the speakers, and for this application I'd recommend this over the W93 or any other Shure lapel mic. Aside from the pickup pattern, the audio quality provided by this microphone is outstanding. I purchased another one of these along with a BLX14 wireless set for my church for my pastor's use to record Sunday morning teachings. When playing back recordings, you really get a chance to scrutinize audio quality, and this has exceeded my expectations. As a bonus, this mic is one of the cheapest of Shure's lapel mics! Shure never seems to disappoint. ... show more

  • Neutral Review For Personal Circumstances
Style: CVL Centraverse
I got this to use in my Focusrite 2i2 Gen3 Interface, and it didn't work. 48v on or off, there was nothing I could do to get it to work... which was disappointing. I wanted a condensor lavalier bc I thought it'd work perfectly with my setup. It doesn't. And now if I want to use the mic at all, I'll have to get another piece of equipment from Shure, since this mic has a proprietary plug at the end (not standard XLR or audio jack). That's on me for not doing enough research, and for not testing it soon enough to be able to return. Oh well. Maybe one day I'll get the other piece I need, try it out and update this review. For now, 3 stars, bc I literally have no idea about how well it works. Moral of the story: If you are getting this to use in a USB Interface, using an XLR adapter (I tried 2 different ones), don't. Don't waste your money, if you have the same intentions as I did. *Shure* would be cool if it did work though lol, since I've heard good things about the sound quality of these mics. ... show more

This was a perfect replacement for the original Microphone. I plugged in and and I noticed an improvement over the audio quality and volume.
