This product is excellent on carpet! On furniture, the results are more mixed. The suction power on carpet is quite strong, but quite weak on soft surfaces like an armchair or a couch. The biggest drawback is that the clean water tank is rather small, so if you have multiple messes (like I did after many years of putting off buying an upholstery cleaner), you will have to empty and re-fill the tank multiple times. I love this! I tried to show some before and after cleaning photos, but my carpet is dark and it was hard to see. So you will just have to trust me when I say that it does clean well. We have seven dogs, so I purchased this to avoid having to pull out the big carpet cleaner, when small accidents happen. The media could not be loaded. Overall, this is a really small, lightweight, quick, and easy thing to use for small messes. However, I have to admit that it didn't have the level of suction I kind of expected from the Shop-Vac brand. No matter how long I charge, the suction is on the weaker end, so I have to go over each spot many times in order to pull up nearly as much water as it initially put out. That said, it makes it perfect for, say, cleaning half of a couch cushion when your kid spills their milk, but it's not the tool for the job if you want to clean the entire couch. (I mean, you could, but it would take a while lol.) After use, it's easy to rinse out all of the parts and let it dry before tucking away for next time. I've used it plenty of times for cleaning up small accidents around the house, but it didn't replace my full size steam cleaner for bigger messes and periodic cleaning whole carpets. It is a lot more convenient though since I can handle just that mess much quicker than I would've gotten to it if I had to dig out the big one. ... show more

I bought this vacuum spot cleaner because it was portable/handheld. This will make it easy to clean up upholstery & not have to stress over not getting those stains out of furniture. I haven’t used it yet, but will post an update when I do to see if it was worth the buy.

Spray nozzle is very weak and the tank doesn’t work well. Does not clean carpet at all. Returning this product!

    • It is ok for small spots.
I think it is ok in general. Some of the spots I tried to clean were old so I didn't expect much. I took a star because there is no marking for detergent/water levels and instructions are not very clear. I think it will good to pick up small spills and clean spots when fresh.
